P.A. Works Announces Original TV Anime 'Fairy Gone' for Spring 2019

Animation studio P.A. Works announced an original anime series titled Fairy Gone on Thursday, scheduled for an April 2019 premiere. Main staff and cast members, as well as a teaser preview have also been revealed.

Synopsis
"Once upon a time, fairies were tools of war."

The story takes place in a world where fairies possess and dwell in animals, giving them mysterious abilities. By removing the organs of a possessed animal and transplanting them into humans, fairies can be summoned as an alter ego and be used as a weapon. Such individuals who used fairies as war tools were called "Fairy Soldiers." Once the war was over and they completed their roles, the soldiers lost their purpose. Some began working for the government, some joined the mafia, and some even became terrorists, as each chose their own way to live.

Nine years have passed since the war. The protagonist Mariya is a new recruit of "Dorothea," an organization which investigates and suppresses fairy-related crimes. Amidst the unstable political situation, criminals with lingering wounds from the war and past conflicts emerge and engage in terrorism as an act of revenge. This is the story of Fairy Soldiers, fighting for their own justice in a chaotic postwar world.

PA Works with another original anime again and this one looks cool, im gonna watch it

Cover looks really interesting, and the original creator also did Grimgar, my favourite isekai. Nice.

Not the kind of show I usually expect with PA Works originals, but this looks [i]really[i/] cool. And the song in the PV sounds great!

(K)NoW_NAME and Ao Jumonji are back for another show, and I’m highly looking forward to this! Hai to Gensou no Grimgar(Grimgar of Fantasy and Ashes) is one of my top favourites so here’s to hoping this Original will be as good too.
Yet another P.A. Works Originals, count me in basically.

If it's orginal and P.A. Works then there's no way I can't pass it.

so the heroine is voiced by Kana Ichinose
she have a very similar voice to HanaKana :)

PA Works Original, MC deals with fairy crime, with fairies in the government, mafia and terrorist organisations..... sounds like the makings of a hell of a show.
Plus the original creator of Grimgar of Ashes as the series composition, nice, a writer who added stark reality in a fantasy world, good fit for this shows premise.

Furry garbage so hard pass.

Even if I love P.A. Works, I'm not gonna watch this series. PV contains everything that I hate about anime and series description only confirms it.

And PA Works are generally pretty consistent. Colour me intrigued

got 'Sirius The Jaeger' vibes from it
,which for me is one of their finest underrated series.

This could either really good or really bad.

Hope this is good. I really wasn't a fan of Irozuku.

If the story is less boring than Sirius the Jaeger, this might be a winner.

Seems promising, will definitely check it out.

This might be an actual good anime from PA Works since it's not in the romance genre.

The premise does catch my attention and I really do like the Grimgar novels so I think we are in good hands.

Premise is interesting, Grimgar guy is a huge selling point but seeing it's P. A. I'm expecting it to be completely wasted effort to say the least. It will probably be another turd in a pretty wrapping like most P. A. series.

P.A has never been that good at writing stories. Hope they proof that they can write something decent atleast on the level of Charlotte/Angel beats.

Well, they did Nagi no Asukara, which was pretty great itself, so I wouldnt really say that.

Never watched Nagi before, heard some good things about it though.
But from all the P.A things I've watched they always are just average to fine. With Charlotte being good, which is a shame really cause the visuals look good af.

It looks sick! It looks like a brutal seinen. Is it only me or do these creatures look like from Claymore or D.Gray-man

I enjoyed Shirobako too, and it has it's charm showing off the problems studios encounter while making a show, but watching problem after problem for 24 episodes straight basically wears off in a while for me, and without substantial characters or story development it didn't hook me as much as it perhaps could.

It is a unique anime though, I'll give P.A Works that. One of the main reasons I gave it a 7.

I just hope this new show will be good, but I'll guess we'll see once the show drops.

The premise sounds quite decent especially the staff with Kenichi Suzuki and Ao Jyumonji. It will be interesting to see how Ao Jyumonji as the main writer of the series will perform besides his own LN.

it does look fairly interesting, the concept of transplanting organs for power reminds me of tokyo ghoul

Let's not forget that Know Name also sang for "Sakura Quest", another P.A. Works and Toho Animation series.

You can't really trust PA works for good story-writing, story-telling with their last projects (Sirius, Irozuku) but who knows, maybe this time ...

From the teaser, I will keep my expectations pretty low though.

The premise and style reminds me a lot of the manga series To the abandonded sacred beasts. I don't really trust the Grimgar LN author with the script writing, so that could go badly. At least hopefully the show delivers on its cool aesthetic style. It always makes me happy to see when a really good mangaka is solicited to make designs for an original anime project.
