What's an anime you can't stand, despite it having high scores/good reviews?

because he isn't some OP jesus-kun that solves everything without trying and is always right about everything, he is instead a deeply flawed individual with far too much pride and impulsiveness for his own good, his story is about overcoming these flaws

is it because he rejected Rem?

this is a very vague complaint

Whoopsies, someone is triggered...

i really don't understand your complaint, because it says nothing about why you hate him

Idk if this is famous. I didn't exactly hate it, I actually liked in the beginning, but kater half was so poor that I thought that was a waste of time and it became my first and only hated anime, Trinity blood. But then a year later I felt I still liked the first half and decided maybe the source is better and studio fucked up, then I saw the forums here on mal and got to know that the writer was dead and the series was continued by his friend. That was actually kind of relief because I liked the first part very much and thought well we can't really expect for someone to follow the original author well. But I'll still give it a try sometime.

I like this truth, I stopped reading halfway of this forum because I knew if I continued reading, I'd keep on getting more triggered and would want an internet war.

Hero Academia. It is too cliched and predictable. Usually, writers know if their work is predictable, so they add something unpredictable right after their predictable scenes. It seems Hero Academia's writer has no idea the story is predictable, and thus adds nothing that makes the story special at all.

"Jojo's Crazy Adventure" I tried to watch the show but I never disliked any MCs more than the ones from Yoyo (a bunch of macho a-holes) and gave up on the show fairly early on. I never got into "One Pice" which seems to be going on forever but I really do not like the style. I have just started watching "Mob 100" and I cannot say I am even remotely vowed and watching the first two episodes was a chore. Not sure if I want to watch more.

He isn't a flawed individual like what you've mentioned before instead he is, well, to put it simply, just an overdramatic badly written character. All he does is just screaming and crying over the dead waifus and it goes on until it loses the impact it had before. The author is basically just desperate for sympathy by mindlessly throwing these torture porn over and over.

This kind of threads are a waste of time and pretty lame as well. Also why get triggered? You have no reason to.

So, what, do you like absolutely every anime that is popular? are there absolutely no exceptions for you?

Serial Experiments Lain. I can't believe it's so highly rated.

Also Angel Beats. I kinda liked it at the beginning, but the plot makes absolutely no sense. The OST is really good tho.

Railgun and Index. I can't stand the characters or world. I'm a fan of Sci-Fi and magic and stuff, but the "explanations" these shows give the audience on how some of these kids do stuff is insanely absurd.

No mate, it's a civil discussion about taste. It's hurting no one. Why even post what you did? Because you're such an anime God? Check your ego.

You could just be a 'proper grown up' and ignore the thread if it doesn't interest you. Ironically, making that above comment makes you more of an edgelord-hipster than anyone in this thread.

Peace out, man :) There's no need to be a twat.

There is no truth in that statement.

The only truth is that if you get triggered by someone having an opinion that is different to yours on a public forum and that incites enough rage to want to start an "internet war" perhaps you should limit yourself to thread topics that you know you will enjoy reading/participating in.

Or grow up a bit. Whatever.

Attack on Titan without a doubt. I also didn't like the first season of Overlord. Still need to watch the others though.

"Can't stand" is definitely an overstatement but I dropped One Punch Man after Episode 3. I'm a huge superhero guy too, read comics more than I watch anime TBH, but for whatever reason it just didn't click with me. Not really sure why.

Loved Mob Psycho though.

It might be because it wasn't really an 'anime' anime if you know what I mean. It was pure satire. Essentially a spoof of shonen anime in general.

I loved it, but I can see why it wouldn't appeal to some people.

I know this isn't a controversial opinion you're looking for but man is Guilty Crown horrible, it's absurdly bad at everything it tries to do. Every single character is boring and infuriating the dialogue is bad the plot is sporadic and its a shame cause the concepts cool and the first episode gave me high expectations.

nisekoi

i dropped that shit 3 minutes after the opening

I begrudingly watched all of it both seasons both OVAs, and the best way to describe Nisekoi is a romantic comedy with literally no romance that isn't funny.

A few...
Monogatari series - while I do praise it's clever story, animation, characters, etc. Unfortunately, it was too convoluted that it bored me to death
Death Note - characters are sooo uninteresting and sorta annoying
No Game No Life - I don't get why people love this show. It's just your typical ecchi with many cliches

Your Lie in April and Overlord. Have gone over why just too many times before so I won't get into it, but yea. Those two.

So many people call it a masterpiece, but i found it to be boring, predictable, melodramatic and i absolutely hated the constant out-of-place slapstick comedy.

Oh god I forgot about their attempts at comedy... to say those bits were "poorly timed" would be an understatement.

I'd say season 2 of Code Geass. Everyone decided to be a hypocrite to their own ideals. They also just said fuck you to the tactical and strategic mecha battles, instead it became a contest of who can make the biggest explosion and destroy the most shit. I will say that s2 had by far one of the greatest endings I think I've ever seen in anime.

Grand Blue - So unfunny it actually hurt to watch.

100% mine as well. People kept telling me it was "frat humor brilliance in the styling of Animal House," but I saw none of the rebounding punchline and caper comedy that Animal House offered to us, nor even any particularly decent slapstick or clever jokes -- by the end of the "THAT'S NOT WATER" routine, I was rubbing my eyes and cringing. Definitely a much weaker series than either Asobi Asobase or Hinamatsuri, from my perspective.

While I think Ginga Eiyuu Densetsu is an enjoyable watch for the most part, I don't find it to be the transcendent work that many in the anime community venerate.
Harem is the opiate of the Anime fandom masses.
