| They rip from CrunchyRoll and Funimation. Subs are probably pretty good. Usually get whatever is higher quality. |

| HS rips from whatever legal site happens to be streaming something, not just CR/Funi. And judging by the numbers, most anime viewers are perfectly fine with the translations that legal sites provide. After all, the vast majority watch on bootleg streaming sites, whose streams = re-encodes of HS. Even among the minority that still downloads via torrents and such, most opt for HS. | Erai-Raws just released Tensura OAD 1 (all-languages subs) before it showed up on the Horrible-Subs tracker, so props to Erai. They don't have XDCC but their DDL is super-fast. Glad to have this alternative for those who can't run torrents safely. | The joke behind their name is because they reupload legal subs of anime which have historically been much worse than fansubs. Nowadays legal subs have gotten a lot better, but they've been known as horriblesubs for so long now that they can't really change their name to reflect the increase in quality. |
