Do you ever read a manga which is still ongoing, or do you prefer to wait until it's complete?

Manga takes years to finish, not to mention those that go to hiato and never come back. How someone could wait until its complete? rofl

How I should wait for manga to be finished?! Even if you prefer reading completed manga there's no way you don't read publishing series unless you aren't a big fan and you can also put the manga in On-Hold when you finish the most recent arc of that manga

Both. I don't particularly care. I'll read anything that looks interesting.

Both for me, it all boils down to whether I like it or not. If I like it I'll read it regardless if its finished or not.

I prefer to read finished manga, preferably not too long, but if I find an ongoing manga that I like I follow it.

Well, I don't care if the manga is finished or no, even if the manga doesn´t have a translation accompanying Japan.

I prefer finished manga, but I will read ongoing, but normally I will put it on hold for a year or when I catch up and then reread.

Also both and I also prefer finished manga. Waiting a month for a chapter or 6-9 months, sometimes years for a volume is torturous. When I read ongoing manga, I generally don't catch up. I read it until the end of the last complete story arc then wait for the next to finish.

Depends entirely on the series, really. If the premise is good enough, I've no problem with jumping into something unfinished. That's why I've got nearly 150 series as currently reading on here.

I've read a lot of ongoing manga just because if you wait until they're complete you'll have to read a lot more faster.

I read ongoing mangas as long as they have 20+ chapters, if I don't spend enough time with the manga it's easier to forget. If you don't read ongoing stuff you will surely miss out and only be able to read the elder series.

most of on-going manga i read are slow but it take me months until i'm interested in reading them again

there are times im into yaoi/josei smut for months
but then after my libido settles down, i will go and read the psychological and comedy manga ones that are still on-going but has 10+ chapters in to sit through up to the latest release

it really depends on what i feel like reading atm and everything else is just a coincidence whether they finish or not by the time i feel like picking them up again

I prefer completed manga but there's just too much on-going manga that I really like to pass and it will take years to finish if I wait so I read both completed and on-going.

I rather wait, mostly because I tend to forget to check on on-going manga and then some of them take ages to translate and when a new chapter comes out I completely forgot the plot.
Not even mentioning manga who stop being translated mid-way or enter hiatus. I've been there with some and it hurts me.
The only on-goings I'm still acompanying are well known stuff that I'm sure will have translators like One Piece and Berserk, also thinking about starting Boku no Hero for the same reason.
Other than that, I just rather read completed manga.

Gotta ask, what manga is this?

Also for OP: I tend to read only finished manga. I tend to browse horror recs and divulge in a few one-shots or one volume works, a lot of which I have an interest in being published around the 2000s era. I've never really tried an ongoing manga though, but it's definitely something I'm going to try this year, see how I like it.

I try not to read a lot of ongoing manga but I've ended up starting quite a few anyway.

My favourite manga has been on hiatus for over 3 years, one of the few reasons why I try not to start them until they're finished.

Its CLAMP's X/1999 (kinda Tokyo Babylon sequel... Daaamn they didnt even finish Gohou Drug and Clover for whatever reasons, that really breaks my heart into small small pieces...) :''(

Oh yeah, but it was left unfinished for some time too only not long ago they picked it again under the name Drug & Drop and I heard that slowly realizing new chapters and maybe even drop it again... They tend to stop publishing their works for some reason : /

That was it, Drug & Drop. Aw man, I had no idea they were actually dropped and left as incomplete... that really sucks. I've noticed they did it with a few I was going to read and I decided not to for the sake of reading some that were completed. But CLAMP do have some amazing works; just a shame they can't always fully complete them.
