Do you have any MUST INCLUDE GENRE(S) in an Anime in order to watch?

I know most people would watch whatever genre it is but I believe some also have their quirks of only watching an Anime with specific tags or genres.

I only avoid idol shows and most of the all girls cast. Also the yaoi and yuri stuff, I'm fine with gay people btw but I don't like those kinds of shows.

I'm more particular about avoiding certain genres rather than having them as a necessary criteria to watch a show

Same here bro but i'll add one more and that's reverse harem or shoujo with two male and single female because it's always drama more drama and infinite drama.

Not all the time but at night the show has to be dark. Dark meaning bloody, deathly and deep plot. I can't have any slice anime with nothing good about them like Asobi Asobase. Even shows like Hyakuren no Haou and Isekai Maou won't do, well that depends on each anime. Akame ga Kiru and Fate/Zero would be perfect examples. Recent examples would be Fate/Extra and Goblin Slayer. Something like Satsuriku no Tenshi works very well too.

Avoid ONLY girls titles(for example, Love Live, Kantai Collection etc), reverse-harems (Diabolic Lovers and Amnesia were bad experience enough aww), harem+online games(you know, there is no such good animes), mahou shoujo(madoka is one only exception i enjoyed, others suck), yaoi and yuri(not a fun), ecchi+harem+more than 5 girls(monogatari one only good, and i havent got any as normal as this), slice of life which have more than 24 episodes(fuck my brain, its so rude)
Prefer Drama, Psychological, Horror, Thriller, Adventure etc

Oh yeah, I forgot about the reverse harem, I also can't watch them. But I actually enjoy shows were 2 guys want the same girl, at least some of them. I don't remember well but maybe I can stand 3, more than that it's imposible. When I see 6 dudes throwing their dicks to her face I just close everything and go.

I'm flexible with most of the genres but its better if an anime has romance tag.

No, i don't need any genres included to watch an anime, however on the other hand i will actively avoid watching anime with certain genres such as Mecha, Sports, Ecchi, Harem(unless it's a Reverse Harem), Shounen-ai, Shoujo-ai, Yaoi, Yuri, Hentai and most Seinen.

Nope. Limiting myself to watching certain genres will only restrict me from finding an anime with the potential to be surprisingly good. But if an anime must include something to get me to watch it, being an obscure series would make me more curious and interested into watching the series.

Nope, but when I look for things to watch without being in the mood for anything specific, I look for Harem and Comedy.

Don't have a must include. But I avoid yaoi and too girly shows. I don't enjoy those type of shows.

Same goes to me, it's not that I have any problems with gay people, it's only that i can't enjoy watching yaoi, yuri types of Anime.

I can't stand watching reverse harem.... why would 6 dudes throw their dicks to one specific girl.. i just can't..

If it is dark, I tend to look for the Psychological tag and the thriller tag

If it is a slice of life, I generally try to avoid romance

I know, I wonder if even the girls enjoy that kind of shows. Most of them don't even have a plot, I watched a couple that seemed to have at least a plot but other are just dumb. Even the ones that seemed interesting I dropped them instantly tho.

I don't have any genres something has to be (or not be), but I definitely tend toward watching fantasy and sci-fi.

No such thing. There's some genres I evade unless paired with a genre I'm fond of.
Great example: I avoid stand alone romance anime, but I may give it a watch if it's paired with harem and comedy.

MAL is so dumb with how they list genres I've learned to stop relying on them for information. If something says it's romance there's like a 70% chance it's a romance and if it's missing the tag there's still a chance it actually is a romance.

In a perfect world where genres were all correctly listed I still wouldn't really care since I like a wide variety of anime. One might be under the impression that I can't enjoy an anime that isn't about cute girls, but there have been many anime I've enjoyed in the past where girls weren't the focus. I'll even check out the occasional mecha despite how hated it is in our community.

Nah, it depends mostly in the trama for the series. If it has a interesting trama I’ll added to my watch list. I do avoid, or rather doubt, about watching if it has ecchi or harem (or both).

No, not really. But I usually tend to enjoy shows with lolis in them more. (Not exactly, fanservice shows. But, shows with some cute female cast members.)

If it has supernatural / super powers / fantasy then chances I'll watch it increase drastically, even better if combined with action.

If it's fantasy there's a higher chance of me watching it. If it also has historical then I'm likely to check it out at least.

I don't have any tags I would particularly dislike. I'm not much into harems for some time now, but I don't blindly avoid them. Some can be good. On the other hand seinen tag can make more likely to check something out, but again, I wouldn't pick something up just because it has the tag. I always consider several things before picking up a show, and tags are just a little part of it.

There are some genres I usually avoid as I don't like them much. (space/sci-fi/military/history/yaoi/shounen-ai) , but nevertheless I watch them now and then. Some less, some more.

Not really. I’m not always actively seeking one or more genre. It depends on what I feel like watching atm. It can be an action packed anime, a fantasy, a soothing slice of life, or romantic comedy.

no, but i do the opposite. Any anime that has the echii genre, i get kinda suspicius, and the most of the time give a low rating or just drop.

Romance mostly for me. Always love romance within most Anime to build on the story.
