This way he would not dirty the clothes and won't leave wet traces. |

It's never explicitly stated, but it's strongly implied that the monsters within the cave are more "magical" compared to the species counterpart outside the cave. An indication is that NONE of the monsters inside the cave where bleeding when wounded or killed, but all the monsters outside the cave do. An even more notable example is the Black Serpent. We have seen two Black Serpents get decapitated up until now. One is the one from the OP in the forest, which bleeds upon death, the other once is from EP2 in the cave, which did NOT bleed. And this certainly isn't "censorship" or any such thing, considering they showed a man dying in a pool of blood and show the bloody decapitation of a Wolf monster. So it's safe to say that the monsters born within the cave are "high-magicule variants" compared to their species counterparts living outside the cave. Their body structure is fundamentally different. Rimuru was also born within the cave, so it wouldn't be a surprise if a side effect is a more smooth, gel-like body that doesn't stick on things by default. Not to mention the unknown effects that Rimuru got from being named by one of the four True Dragons... It's also possible that he "keeps his stickiness in", like he did with his aura in EP2. I mean if he is super sticky wouldn't it hinder his movement of bouncing forward? There's no way he would just leave such an annoyance be when he has a super-AI-like Great Sage within him. He would obviously fix such a defect very early on, if it even existed in the first place. Last but not least, he has the magical storage of predator inside him. His insides see, to be liquid and the space perceived from the inside also is obviously greater than what it looks like from the outside, after all he has a huge Dragon-in-a-cage alongside with tons of herbs, ores, potions and water within his body. A membrane that acts as some kind of magic-forcefield to seperate the inside from the outside also seems to be plausible. There are various possible explanations for this, as you can see. |
