| MHA is indeed overrated in the sense that people praise it as some god shounen with no flaws, and if you try to criticizes it the fanboy will attack you; but its not bad either. The hate for black clover is unwarranted and its not even as bad as people make it out to be(funny how most of these guys didnt even watch more than 2 episodes with out rating it negatively) but yea. Im looking forward to the witch arc its going to be hype af. |

| It's alright now. I use to hate this thing but after watching the Seabed Temple/ Witch Forest arc as well reading the manga I started to kinda enjoy it. Don't get me wrong I'm not a fan of the series but least it's climbed out from the anime rabbit hole now. My Hero Academia lost me after the All For One vs One For All fight as the series started to become the second coming of post Soul Society Arc of Bleach. |
| one of the most overhyped shounen pre release and then one of the worst i watched all episodes because after the underwater arc it got better bit by bit now its actually funny sometimes,the fights are atually good, but i still dislike most the cast because no real Charcter and just saying the same 2 phares every 5 minutes for example Gauche and his "ohh i want my Maria" or Asta with just rndm doing situps everywhere and being to dumb and annoying |

necro_dancer said: it's not like over hyped, but it's more like the animation quality is so good that it is so dear to most of the people. if bc came in the form of seasons, it would have the same amount of craze.DISCLAIMER: i don't hate my hero academia but i think its overhyped and another thing: i will use bleach as my main example. it was my first shounen, i love it, its probably the most hype battle shounen out there, it has crazy amount of wasted potential and lastly, BC is probably closest to bleach i know a lot of people think its trash but its really not, i had problem with pacing so i waited for episodes to pile up. i started watching again yesterday (starting episode 17) and i actually can't stop now. i will go over the reasons of why i think BC is really good, better than My hero academia and could easily stand with Big 3 if it was airing with them 1) yuno is an amazing rival. for the first time, the 2 (asta and yuno) clearly show they like each other, i can feel that they are friends. its not like my hero academia where the show is trying to make me like a bully (and none of the people seem to give a fuck about bakugo's anger issue-the whole relationship is abusive af) 2) its self aware. the shows knows about the cliche and stuff but the execution is usually not cliche... this is hard to explain, its like i know what trope is gonna be used next but i STILL get excited for it. and honestly, MHA is much more cliche than this (which is my next point) 3) fights are great and all of them are higher than average standard. battles in MHA are boring af, why? because the powers are boring im a glass canon that can use infinite ice and fire i have explosions that don't burn people i punch! really really really HARD... ULTRA FUCKIN HARD! and when im pushed to my limit... i just PUNCH EVEN HARDER! seriously? i know that flame magic isn't very "creative" either but at least they make it LOOK COOL... and thats what this is all about back when goku went super saiyan, nothing special technically happened, he just got a lot stronger but the EXECUTION made it one of the most memorable anime moments in history! the hair color change, the sharp aura around him... it was a magical moment something as simple as putting a hawk's background on the person can make an attack more interesting (as seen in sport anime). black clover is very "free" when it comes to this powers, i fuckin love it 4) the scale. BC is doing great stuff. the progression has been at a good rate so far (especially for noelle) and no one is getting super strong yet. bleach made a mistake early on, ichigo got a draw AGAINST FREAKIN KENPACHI. i really love bleach but that was a mistake (IMO). speaking of bleach: 5) black clover takes the"CAPTAIN/SQUAD" format of bleach and actually does stuff with it. this is simply because the main characters are part of them. this is what would happen if ichigo joined kenpachi and im loving it. there is a lot more focus on members of group too, because of that we can see their interactions: 6) characters don't have much to offer on their own...their interactions however... its amazing. it makes the world more alive imagine for a second, kenpachi and byakuya! look at this youtube clip (just 30 seconds): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ORUgiySAUZM this was thrown away as just a small comedy part for the end of episodes. these characters technically see each other EVERY FUCKIN DAY and we get bare minimum interaction in this 300+ episode... and they are captains too, important characters and not just squad members here is another one from bleach: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o18fx2R8gts old man yama was not used enough, asta and yuno meet wizard king so early and its really good, he is being used as a character i know that bleach couldn't do this stuff too much and that it would ruin some things but there is till some wasted potential here and i think most fans will agree (i remember moments where orihime was in soul society as a guest, it was interesting to see this highschool kid there) **there are many more things i wanted to say but i can't remember so i will end it 2 smaller things** BC has a Battle Royal arc later on but the characters are introduced earlier so u actually know a bit about them before the tournament arc and this is great IMO, i will now feel attachment to characters. this was the problem with the newest exam arc with MHA, such a boring arc ultimately... BC is the shounen that is hype as fuck... it genuinely puts a smile on my face and i wish more people gave it a chance and didn't dismiss it so easily, its special in its own way :D i hope i haven't offended any fan of other shows, im a fan of those shows myself and these are just opinions, just check my list, i have given 10 to bleach and 9 to MHA, i really love them |

If you give it a chance you quickly realize the hero becomes more bearable, more calm and the series increasingly develops its own identity, but many people only scratch the surface and give up very fast. Those who went on pretty much love it now. |

| Couldn't careless what other people says, Black Clover isn't even bad like what they're saying. Most of them are just riding the hate bandwagon cuz they think it makes them cool. Black Clover is a good anime yes it cliche but they embraced it. It doesn't try too hard to be something unique and living up to most shounen we've grown too in which I will always appreciate. It will always be welcomed to me. |
