| Before Zombieland Saga Came out a lot of people were hyped because they thought they would get a very gritty and Gory horror Show but were disappointed because it was a Zombie Idol Show. Seeing that the MAL community hates a lot of very dark MODERN shows, Do you think People would've liked it more or do you think threads like This One would still exit? I think there would still be hate for the Show. I think it would be worse in fact. Just look at all the Goblin Slayer Threads. It would be like that one just that with a different anime. |

If this was a zombie survival with the full power resources of the studio that gave us Banana Fish just last season, it'd be far more popular. Stop equating the reception of dark and gritty shows with the reception of Goblin Slayer. That Attack on Titan is popular and continues to remain popular in part because people love its grittiness is proof enough that people love dark and gritty shows. The one mistake of Goblin Slayer that got it in hot waters is that it escalated from violence to sexual violence because it felt it can't leave enough impact on a viewing audience increasingly desensitized to violence. Detractors of its rape scene has one prevailing message that can be summed up as: "If you're going to tackle rape, then you better tackle it like you're the second coming of Shouwa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu, else stop using it to just grab attention." Read the summary of Banana Fish. A main character is a rape survivor, a male-on-male rape survivor, pedophilia at that. That didn't go in hot waters because people felt it tackled the subject with the gravity it deserves, one that people again felt Goblin Slayer did not give. |

| The show would be the second coming of Gakkou Gurashi, that would be loved to death. The problem isn't be a dark show, but to use shock in cheap/lazy ways and how easy it is to notice that. Think about it: SPOILERS OF GAKKOU GURASHI AHEAD! If Megume died in the first episode would we have cared about her ? Even if the girls tells us that they loved Megune it wouldn't have been that impacting. |
