Ha, his shock face makes him look a bit like Calcifer. So far things seem to be going a lot better than "So I'm a Spider, So What?" was early on. Glad this has 24 episodes.

So THIS is a Light Novel adaptation... (tis my first one watched).

But your avatar... oh, I see, you read some of Re:Zero but didn't watch it. You do have Another (anime) on hold, that's an LN adaptation :)

https://www.barnesandnoble.com/w/another-vol-1-yukito-ayatsuji/1117786245

According to MAL, the source for Another's anime is listed as 'novel' as oppose to this which is listed as mang- wait, what?! MAL I think you made a mistake! Well basically I think Another counts as a normie book which is a completely different thing from LN's. I know it's a technicality but that's always how I felt.

I quite enjoyed this. The scene of him getting stabbed was a bit weird (seriously, what sort of criminal just runs through the street with a knife outstretched) but otherwise was enjoyable and fun. Not too serious first episode, although I hear from some that it gets more serious as it goes.

Really good first episode.
Opening at the end spoils best char of the season

Speaking of intro... am I the only one who thinks its garbage?
The melody is all over the place and totally not coherent and its really hurting to listen to......

Everyone has heard of the best man with the best girl,
But i doubt anyone had heard about the best slime with the best tsundere dragon,
Ouhh, and i saw quite a few talkin about rimuru's human form, im not gonna say much about that yet now, but "I" think (s)he'll prob get it around ep4-5, i could be wrong with my calculations and experience may still be inefficient, but hey its still gonna the the best anime ever without a doubt

A tsundere dragon, I didn't see that coming :D
As much as I'm bored with "flavour of the fad" isekai genre I'm going to watch this, it may even poke fun at the genre.

I didn't think this would be good at all, since you know, we have gotten so many isekais over the last few years, it's insane and I thought it's going to be an interesting idea, but executed badly, however I was wrong. This is actually pretty interesting and I like the art style. I was also surprised by the great rating for the manga, so I have to say I'm quite hyped for this.

Yeah you're not the only one that thinks the song is incoherent. It just has no proper flow. The visuals though are great but the song could have been better.

I do want to note on something since I don't think I have said jack here but the first episode REALLY freaking impressed me. I do like the comedy scenes as well as fewer scenes in regards to the first episode.

Visuals while on their own are underwhelming I do feel like they're charming in their own right. But we'll see how this goes. Ebata doesn't disappoint me with the visuals in OPs and EDs so this was nice as well. Though the only negative I have is the song... wew lad that was just, yeah. Not the best music out there or the best OP, could have been better so.

Also the Tsundere Dragon caught me off-guard so much that I was dying out loud yesterday. xD Kek.

Oh yeah, I guess it wouldn't really hurt but I made something out of boredom to celebrate the premiere for the series hue.

Also if the mods have any issues with this you can let me know. Though yeah I thought it would be fine to show this since it's the first episode premiere for it. xP and well I was impressed with how it went down.

Animation is nice but holly shit, how annoying is slime's voice and manner of speech. Not to mention that its human form looks like androgynous garbage. So basically like most anime teenage wimps... I'll check the next episode but so far it seems like good animation wasted on crap material.

Great episode and a great start. I'm glad the tsundragon wasn't a CGI shitfest like several other isekais have been.

Loving the slime personality as well. Can't wait til we get the other characters.

Only the 1st episode but this isekai anime of handling of skills is already better than others that have attempted.

I really hope the series manages to keep up consistency, especially with 24 episodes.

Glad someone else noticed this too. Only just noticed after seeing the snake fight bit in the opening. Dat iconic Ebata walk animation.

The iconic Ebata animations in general are something I took notice here xD also, once I noticed Ebata being the one managing the character designs I freaking knew that there's going to be either: an OP, ED entirely animated by him, or an episode or two (or a lot) where there's moments where his animation style is noticeable. Heck, in the RL segments there's also his usual walking animation too. Which is ahhh! xP

Great first episode, I'm now understanding the hype around this one. Glad to see the quality of new Isekai's on the upswing with Isekai Mahou last season and Tensei Shitara this season. 8 Bit on the rise as an animation studio

Wow, the audio and visual were most impressive. When I saw 8bit was behind this, I thought this was going to be pure garbage like the Rewrite and Grisaia adaptations... couldn't have been more wrong. I think I'm hooked.

Not bad. I didn't enjoy much of the comedy and the pacing of the episode, but it was fine. The animation and visual style look quite on point.

For Japanese, I imagine their porn collection should have things way worse than that.
Maybe bestiality / incest/ sex with animals/ traps/ Gang bang/ sex slave.

Not bad. I mean, who wouldn't want to see where this is going. It's a fun idea for sure. Wish they hadn't spoiled some of his future abilities in the OP (or is it the ED?).

Having read the light novel up to pretty much the end of this first episode, the adaptation has done a great job so far and holy shit some of the animation and visual effects were pretty damn good

A tsundere 'X' has already been a trope forever, how is a tsundere dragon hilarious ? Unimaginative as it gets.

OMG guy gets randomly stabbed to turn into a slime causing a miserable avalanche of exposition.

Guy also has classic virgin nice guy trope with a bland af personality.

How about you explain what was actually funny? Is this your first isekai?

just cause it wasnt new its automaticly painfully unfuuny? if thats you defenition of funny (something not done before) then you cant watch anything since everything was done at one point or another at this point.

on that note i know what willhappen to an extent since i read the mnaga/ln and due this i look forward to more since the story is actually decent enough for a isekai.

Oh no pls dont follow the manga story, the pace is too slow especially afther Orc Disaster Arc, too much slice of life story, iff follow Ln/Wn, Rimuru already meet Yuuki and the 5 children Hero

That contradicts the fact that the opening shows characters and fights which didn't appear in the manga yet. Also nothing in the manga would be a good ending point for a 24 series anime. Orc Lord is far too early and Millim is... not really much of a climatic finale. It's more likely that this will end either with the "science experiment to disprove Clark's third law" (LN vol. 5), or with Walpurgis Night (LN vol. 6). Can't imagine any other moment in the story than these and both are past where the manga currently is.

Also I think this franchise has the particular trait of always doing some changes which the other media didn't have yet, like for the anime, the scene of the Kouhai actually throwing the PC into the bath didn't exist in any of WN, LN or manga. The only thing that really stays the same across all media is the main storyline itself.

I don’t know how people are able to hold back on watching an anime until it’s finished airing. I could never resist the urge to watch it, especially if it’s a good anime. The only benefit to doing that is that you don’t have to worry about cliffhangers.
