| It was always popular in japan, it's one of the best selling mangas of all time. I sincerely believe that we will get a second season because of the sheer popularity in japan, but also because of other reasons. Can't explain why because I don't remember everything in details but it has to do with animes produced by NHK and the timeslots |

| I hope it does not get 2nd season. I don't like slice of life anime Captain Tsubasa 2018 is 10x better. It is a real sport anime with very intense soccer match in almost every episode. Not slice of life anime like Major 2nd. I dropped Major 2nd half way because it is too boring. I did not care about drama and the problems that boy with eye glasses had with his father. |

Captain Tsubasa is my childhood, I love it but it's not even close to as good as Major is. Intense "Football" matches yes but with no regard to the rules of the sport. How is that a "real" sports anime according to you? 10-year-old kids doing supernatural stuff that even not professional football players can do is "real"? |

I did not care about drama and the problems that boy with eye glasses had with his father. disagreed captain tsubasa brings nothing new to the table while major 2nd is completely new and has an interesting concept. loved how the author took the premise of being the son o f a famous pro baseball player and made it into a key aspect of the main character's life. the hikaru daigo bond is very similar yet different compared to toshi goro as goro's main drive was his father but daigo's was hikaru! i loved that |

Tsubasa 2018 is just remake compared to major 2nd as sequel. Tho original major remake also not bad, but 6 seasons hard for budget nowdays. Also tsubasa isnt nearly as good as major overall |

But as different studios kept making adaption of the manga, it's popularity rose because of the sheer quantity of episodes available. Also, Major was just a damn all-round impressive anime. I love how it wasn't just about baseball—it was about how baseball fit into the lives of Gorou and his friends. Compared to Major, Diamond no Ace is nothing special, just a bunch of over-enthusiastic high-schoolers who think they are good at baseball. Quite possible, major series is really popular in japan overall. Tho season 2 of major 2nd kinda become much more fanservicey later, as the middle school team daigo play is literally all girls (more than 5 larer on). Some of em are good waifu material too. Major goes harem manga lol. |
