| Apparently there is a sequel to this series: Shouwa Otome Otogibanashi (昭和オトメ御伽話). According to the Japanese Wikipedia page on Kirioka Sana (the author), it started serialization in Shonen Jump + on 2018-08-21 Some of it can be read online here, it seems. I can read Japanese only slowly and with a dictionary, but I am super-excited about this. I love Taishou Otome with a great passion. I will read it. :D  |

| I wonder what goes on in that image. The girls look like Tamako, Kotori and Ryou. What has happened to Yuzuki? And what happened to Tamahiko? The kanji on the left-hand side say: Ai suru hito to shinemasu ka?, which I translate as: "Can I die together with my beloved?" That sounds scary. I hope Kirioka isn't evil enough to actually kill one of the characters. :O (If anyone has actually read it, please no spoilers!) |
| Showa Otome has been picked up by scanlation group Fallen Angel Scans. At this time of writing they have one chapter out. I don't know whether I am allowed to link to it, so go google it yourself if you want to read it. I know I will be reading it. :D |

It definitely takes place in the same continuity. Shiratori Kotori is namedropped (though not seen) in chapter 2, and characters from Taishou Otome will show up. My spoiler-free impression from having skimmed the raws is that Shouwa Otome gets less depressing after a few chapters (thank fuck!) but is still darker and more serious than Taishou Otome (or Shizuko Is My Bride, for that matter). |
