| I like this. The cast is really fun. And Haruko is great as always  |

| will probably never understand why people dislike Progressive so much tbh. it's fine. this one is...less fine but still like a gentleman's 6 y'know. glad we were at least introduced to another character besides The Annoying Girl, the Girl Who's Defined by Being Overweight, and the Girl Who Isn't the Other Two Girls. |

| Wow, what's that, some actual character progression after a terrible sequel with no interesting characters whatsoever? It was kinda predictable (Toshio turned out to be an asshole and Hijiri was acting cool and grown-up, it was obvious from a mile away), but fun nevertheless. At least Alternative is not even trying to shamelessly copy the original, it feels like a SOL anime with FLCL vibes and occasional references (like that scene when Haruko hit Kana on the head, same style as ep. 1 of FLCL). I also lol'd at the Bumblebee robot. Design-wise, this sequel is also better than Progressive. I have my objections (don't like makeup and all that), and it looks a bit cringe at times, but that's the point...I guess? Girls acting grown-up look cringe and that's supposed to be so. And they seem to be pretty attentive to nails, the girls kinda look at them all the time and evolve as characters, lol. |
