So I'm looking for a Isekai, but let's be a little more specific.

With Isekai I mean stories where the protagonist is physically present in that new world, not VR or other kind of game worlds like SAO.

While I can enjoy dumb stuff like Death March, In another World with my Smartphone and similar "MC is OP and builds his harem" anime, I'm looking for something that has a bit more plot to it.

I really liked the ongoing politics and intrigues in Gate or, while not being as elaborate as I hoped, the war story lines in Zero No Tsukaima.

Basically a wast new world with its own problems you can dive in for a few hours.

What Isekai I watched until now:
Death March
DanMachi (not exactly Isekai I guess)
Gate, both seasons
Isekai wa Smartphone to Tomo ni
KonoSuba, both seasons
Outbreak Company
Re:zero
Zero No Tsukaima, all seasons

Would be great if someone has an idea, hint or recommendation.

Kyou kara Maou! - While this a comedy I felt they still handled the political aspect of the new world with some maturity. There is a really small amount of shounen ai, just a warning, but it's not a big part of the series at all.

MÄR - This is structured like most battle shounen, but it does cover other aspects of the world.

I've got two that the game becomes the real world. Not sure if that is too much like SAO for you.

Log Horizon - Adventure with strategy based combat. 2 complete seasons.
Overlord - MC is super OP but there is some light humor and really cool fights. Season 3 is currently airing.

It's a light novel/manga (The manga is quite behind in the story so imo just read the light novel) is about a socio-econonmic student who get summoned to a country in a food crisis for the purpose of compensation for not being able to pay the fees that they should pay to the countries who border the Demon lord empire but in an unforeseen course of events the king after a 3 day long talk with the summoned "hero" Souma Kazuya makes him king and also marries his daughter Liscia to him.

Rather than being your normal op/suffering mc he mostly deals with paperwork while also trying to get the country back on it's feet.

Really tho this is just what you're looking for.

(These are all stuff on the first few chapter so no spoilers don't worry.)

I'll copy-paste a rec I made some time ago.

The Vision of Escaflowne (1996) and Magic Knight Rayearth (1994):

Both shows tell the story of high school girls being transported to another medieval-like world with nations/kingdoms in war, where they will play crucial roles, meet significant people and discover themselves in the way. Both include mechas as well, and gorgeous, richly detailed visuals, in terms of sceneries, costumes and weapons.

Both take themselves seriously also, they are not dumb.
