| I've watched all 3 seasons and it's the only sports anime i've ever watched to completion if i remember right. The characters are great, the animation is great. 8/10, really solid anime. |

| it's a good anime on volleyball,with good characters and good matches but there are sports anime much more detailed and with lots of games much more exciting of haikyuu. it's a good work but if you are a person who is interested and has practiced various sports you immediately understand that it is not perfect as everyone says.... it's good for me but it is overrated. | It's easily in my top 5 sports and also just in general an amazingly exciting shounen. Season 3 was an almost nonstop adrenaline rush. The cast, character dynamic and the comedy resulting from it are outstanding. |

| It didn't give me the usual sports anime adrenaline rush that stuff like Megalo Box, Hajime no Ippo and Kuroko no Basket did. It was quite disappointing after all the hype and most of the characters are annoying as hell. |

| It's a pretty great sports anime. Definitely one of the better ones out there. Definitely in the top 10 sports anime, probably even in the top 5. | All time favorite anime. I just thoroughly enjoyed all the characters and conflicts that came upon them. Not to mention the awesome animation and beautiful OST. It's definitely going to be up there on my favorites list for a long time coming. |

| Liked it at first but after first season it became uninteresting because lack of stakes/tension/character drama. Still entertaining and while it does still have part of what I said it was lacking they are not enough for me to rate it 8 or higher. Last chapters seasons have been a 7 to me. |

| it's ok (im in the middle of season 2) first season was ok, season 2 very boring (im just in ep12 and things just now getting interesting) the characters are not intresting and boring but the games are cool s1-7.5 s2-5 (for now) i think hajime no ippo is the best sport anime |

| I didn't find anything to it. generic as fuck imo, also the MC is exactly the archetype of character that I can't stand, another naive good guy who follows his dream like a kid. also I'm not a spots fan so I just end up giving absolutely no fuck about what's going on, but that's just me I guess, the only spots animes I liked(ones out, ping pong) weren't really about spots. rating only means how the community received the anime so you found the first season boring and you continued watching? are you allright in your mind? | edit: good time to give sports anime a plug I feel.. sports anime does include the game itself but the appeal for sports anime for me, has always been the characters. Most sports anime I feel have pretty good character development. Some integrate less of the sports itself and some integrate more of the sports into the story. There's no such thing as "I don't like sports anime because I don't like sports" imo. It's been a while since I've watched the first season.. haven't watch the second/third season yet (gonna do so soon) but based on what I remember, I really dislike the comedy moments in a middle of an intense match that breaks the tension of a game. Nope. I don't deny it. But this generalization is only applied in popular shows because that's where different scale doesn't matter that much/doesn't change anything. The less viewer the weaker this generalization is. And that's where different scale changes something. I mostly watch obscure shows for being unique and drop many popular shows for being "the same" as many shows I have watched. So while I don't deny this generalization works in some cases, I won't say these mean scores mean something in general. |

| I was watching seinen anime continuously at that time. Everything was heavy and serious, there's blood everywhere, gore.. So I was like "I want to take a break from these stuff" so I searched for an anime which is just simple, light and generic on YouTube. I found haikyuu. I am not really into sports anime but the comments said it was pretty good. So I tried watching it. It was good. Not the best anime out there. Not even in my top 10 anime. But it was light hearted. And no evil enemies unlike other sports oriented anime. I like that. Some parts/episodes are indeed stale so I understand why some people find it boring. I like yaoi but I really don't find the characters gay like other fan girls, and that's okay. Besides, I really don't like baiting yaoi fans like what they did in Knb.. |
