| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- Pretty thrilling episode. That scene with the arrows raining down on a boat of those Mongols was delightful to watch. That's some nice counterattack. I'm impressed by what the resistance can do so far in this series. They're not holding back to defend their own freedom. Also nice to see the Emperor this episode. |

| The emperor though truly is full of surprises but his best gift was without doubt his advice. Its nice to see Teruhi realise that now isn't the time to let pride get in their way. That was quite the ambush that the Toribarai sprung on the mongols though. Looks like Amushi has a rival of sorts in the form of Sana. Seems this castle isn't as secure as its occupants thought though. The ending scene though is also pretty curious. Still i think having walls between them and the mongols is definitely an improvement for the refugees. |

| If he was going to have an emperor that old- I don't get why the author of the story didn't just create a fictional emperor. Why choose an emperor who (reality/historically speaking) died when he was around the age of 6, when his grandmother took him with her- as she commited suicide (that scene with him on the ship- when he gave up that dagger/sword was the battle the hystorical figure died in) by drowning them both. Also, as a child, and an old man: that character's eyes are disturbing. They look like a demon's eyes or an alien's eyes (like the greys) should look. Big and mostly black orbs. Disturbing. |
