I can't remember every film I've watched, so I'm only logging in those I do remember. Thinking to re-watch some to log them in. Not really interesting.

probably isn't really that user but by god they post really shitty reviews that the new letterboxd crowd from twitter gobble up with their 280 character attention span. i much preferred it when LB was young and relatively unknown and people actually wrote something interesting in relation to the film. what a culture killer

From the followers count it's also likely one of those accounts that mass follow people and then unfollow them so they have a lot of people that react to their reviews. I think LB has actually improved, vastly as a database. Both in quality and quantity. It comes with an increase in popularity and attention seeking individuals though.

oh god not those

LB improved a lot when they released a stable app, i could browse entries on my commute to work when i got the train which was really nice. however, to paraphrase uncle ben from spiderman: with great access comes great exposure...

i've always disliked the privacy settings. i hate the feeling of people being able to follow you without your say so, really weird, it was marketed as a 'diary' with no recognition that actually most people find diaries to be quite personal. hence it always made me scratch my head for not being able turn off followers or at least 'approve' them. they gotta make money but it's a sad missed feature for those who just want to form a small network or use it as a personal film diary.

It was pretty obvious but I didn't thought to getting discovered this fast. Kudos to you man.
Yes, 99.99% of the reviews there are pretty shitty. Agree on that.

Has this issue ever brought up before? This is one of the stuff that should have been implemented way back or... they don't want to do that because then that wouldn't allow anymore making people popular on the site, just like the OP I posted before.

You know - I follow you and you follow back me and let's touch our dicks kind of thing.

Just wanna make a quick agreeing rant. This is one of those abysmal Letterboxd comedians that have made this site almost unbearable. The community littered with "yass queen" or "slay bitch" on these crackheads' reviews is fucking revolting.

Recently there's another user named "Maria" with some abhorrent rainbow LGBTQ profile pic who basically uses the same shtick as the dude Lucy, but worse. Dude literally copies Reddit comments on movies to make their own review, and somehow got popular after like 1 or 2 reviews (clearly bots). I can't imagine how low these Letterboxd people can sink. Of course after getting reported by Redditors themselves, "Maria" has been producing nothing but some of the least funny shit I've seen, and the annoying truth is that it's almost impossible to ignore because their reviews are just flooded and even topped in every movie they comment on.

I'd say it's worse than MAL.

Most of the movies are from childhood since I didn't watch many movies when I was living with my father. And I don't pirate or own a DVD player. I recently got Prime so I'm using that.

Took me eight hours just to date everything from my 2020 list (about 370 entries), import the rest from my IMDB account, fix all the duplicate dates the import made and remove all the titles I don't recognize from the import. All those totally wrong titles make me wonder how much is missing from the import. It also imported a ton of TV shows for a site that supposedly is for movies only. There are still some unknowns I have remove.

The import feature of Letterboxd is awful. It's one of the biggest downsides of the site, definitely. I had the exact same issue when I deleted my account and tried to rerate with my IMDb ratings. In the end I had to do it manually.

So I decided that I hate letterboxd but fortunately for me I kept my imdb.

I removed all anime from it though. I'm gonna keep them all here on mal.

I just keep track of every movie I watch without reviewing it, even though I have an opinion about it but too lazy to review 😁
But lets follow each other! I love to compare the movies we've watched, so I know whether it's worth to watch for me or not (with taste as an exception, maybe you really like it but I don't or vice versa). Thx^^
