Persona 5 the Animation Episode 19 Discussion

So the Phantom Thieves gets another break but this time to Hawaii. First half of the episode was more fun and some fan service.

However, it seems the episode takes on a darker turn when they came back and turns out that Shujin High School’s headmaster passed away. Welp, the mystery begins to thicken again.

After summer vacation. Report about their first case written on a magazine.

Field trip time. Wow, so lucky to go to Hawaii for field trip.

Wow, the ranking to want to change heart changes often (and sees Yamaguchi-san's name lol~).

Imprinting something in sister's laptop.

Hacker checking up on the group who goes to Hawaii. Enjoying Hawaii.

Art university student is in the same hotel, too.

A Japanese girl getting trouble from US guys, and main guy helped out. Shougi student from the same art university?

Hacker cheering the cat her best.

Twintail girl staying w. guys because her roommate went out.

Principal getting killed? Because of the case, other students thought it's their doing. The principal was investigating, and that guy who talked on the phone before his death is involved.

No result on acting now or not, so the cat went to act alone.

It seems like even the sister and high school detective guy think it's their doing, too.

It seems like the cat is not doing well alone, and a lady...

The faces in this episode where exceptionally ugly.

Good episode, we got the long awaited Hawaii trip. I was wondering what they were gonna do for the Hawaii 'date' but it looks like they played it safe and cut it out entirely.
We did get to see Hifumi again which is great, I'm guessing they're only gonna have her make cameo appearance and not actually follow her S.Link at all which is a shame since I really enjoyed it. We also got some good Kawakami shots. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

I found Ren's Aloha hilarious. xD

Here comes unarguably the worst subplot of the game, the Ryuji and Morgana fight. As much as I love the game and it's story, this one subplot most definitely had the worst writing of them all. Nowhere upto the standards of the rest of the game.
I'm assuming the anime is gonna end after Okumura's palace, wonder if we'll get another season or something to cover the rest of the story.

A field trip to Hawaii sounds interesting. Finding intel on the black mask though looks to be the first hurdle. Kawakami's poses though were amusing. Looks like Hifumi's school also had the same idea. When compared to Futaba's abilities i can see why Morgana feels inadequate. While the cast are on break the conspiracy are cleaning house to try and cast blame to the thieves a shrewd move. While their next target is clear looks like their popularity is also causing tensions not just within the team but outside of it as well. Looks like a new face will show up next episode.

I thought this was going to be 24 episodes, but now MAL is saying there's no episode cap. There's no way they can finish the game plot in 5 more episodes... I wonder how long this will end up stretching.

Shame the animation was so ugly, as Hawaii is a really fun part of the story. Odd that they are all but axing Mishima's storyline too.

Morgana seems to be in some deep shit right now. Well that's to be expected when you recklessly run off to try and prove your worth.

Everything besides MAL lists this as 24 eps, yet there's so much of the game unadapted right now. How could this possibly wrap up in just 5 more eps? There'd have to be some sort of OVA or something.

Visuals were atrocious in this episode. God it felt like it was made in 10 minutes

The Bishoujo Kaitou's arrival is going to be next week! They still have a lot to cover, I guess the anime won't have just 24 episodes, things would be too rushed, even for this adaptation.

The trip to Hawaii was pretty nice, they seemed to have more fun than they did in the game.

I loved the selfie in the game, but this one managed to be even more adorable, I just love these dorks, and Ryuji is specially cute here. ❤

Definitely not going to complete the whole adaptation if it does stay a 24 episode series.
They could end it right where it started, at the casino, and then cover the rest in a movie or OVA.

Been a while since I played but he didn't pick any of the optional routes for the Hawaii event did he? Meh.

They pretty much have to avoid any romance routes since the waifu wars are so heated.

I am still in wondering what is going to happen with that after-credits scene.

it was good but it lacked action so 4/5

Although the visual budget was sadly lacking in this episode, at least they did a great job with the selfie shot that Ren took. He looked cool, Ryuji's goofy expression was amusing, Ann looked beautiful and Makoto's expression was irresistibly adorable. =3

Hifumi got a small appearance as Ren saved her from three hulking guys who're trying to have their way with her, while Kawakami treated us fans to plenty of swimsuit fanservice. Her black two-piece is my favourite of the ones she tried on. =D

The huge popularity of the Phantom Thieves is making them start to hesitate about their next target, which is making the already stressed Morgana even more frustrated. In the heat of the moment, he decides that he can do it all by himself, but the post-credits scene shows him totally defeated. However, help is at hand as a certain character appears to rescue him. We'll see more of those two next week.

Also loved the selfie <3 Makoto can be very cute huh X3 Not that I don't like her, is just I didn't expect her to make that kinda face when she's always so serious.

Seeing Hifumi once more was the best part of the episode ♥ Really wish she was more of a major character.

I kinda figured that they'd skip over the talks about what kind of girls Ryuji and Ren liked in the hotel room scene. They can't really confirm any canon romances after all.

Decent, Makoto's face on the photo was adorable =/

The Morgana sidestory has always been my least favorite part of the game since it seemed like it just came out of nowhere. Anime at least built up to it somewhat, but it still feels out of place.

Derp art this episode was pretty hard to look at.

Christ, the art keeps getting worse by the episode. Did they run out of budget or something? The pacing was terrible too.

nice adaptation of the hawaii trip, here comes morgana vs ryuji, but atleast the anime ver. made more sense out of it, and of course, the worst palace is next.

I thought this anime was going to have 24 eps? Now, there's no estimated episodes... Well, I mean, how could they condense all of the 4 palaces remaining in 5 more fucking episodes? I just hope for atleast a 9-episode OVA for the 2 last palaces (or 3) with proper animation and fights...

Ack what happened to all their faces?!

Dammit Ryuji don't argue with a cat. Have to say Yusuke is quite right in that they should take some time to investigate because this kinda feels like some trap with the investigators looking for some connection.
