Seems like Taiga doesn't work anymore, whenever I update my count or try to sync list or relog... This shows

Have the same problem. I already changed my password at MAL & Taiga.

Looks like they've shut off the API completely so Taiga and MAL can't communicate at all atm.

Just found out that other 3rd party apps (AnYme, PocketMAL, etc.) are having the same problem.

How many days will this take, do you think? I'd rather not resort to using the inferior official app on my phone.

Seems like there's no ETA for when they're gonna put the API back up but I hope soon.

Because as it stands now ALL third party programs are fucked. Themes.moe (and similars), AMQ, Taiga, other unofficial MAL apps etc.

You can just uncheck enable auto-synchronization for now and Taiga will still store your progress offline and you can sync it as soon as it becomes available again.

Unless things changed, that will timestamp all the episodes as if you marked them whenever it reconnects. So if you marked like 50 episodes as watched while offline, when it comes back online, it will say you watched all 50 of those episodes at the exact same time. The whole purpose I personally use tools like Taiga and PocketMAL is to mark things exactly what I finish them. I like stats as accurate as possible. Of course they only started giving us exact time stamps on MAL in 2014 so everything prior to that is wrong already, but I'll take as much accuracy as I can get. Right now only the official MAL app works. It's not as good as any third party program, sadly.

Yea, I also don't know when it'll come back, so it's better for me to just go back and update manually. But honestly only now I realize how important Taiga was for me.

Seems like as long as we don't have any API updates, Taiga will stay down. We're also changing owners so... that might take time.

Hope we'll get it before 1 year mark (May)

There is a way to update MAL through Taiga.
Kitsu.io allows you to automatically update your MAL entries with their export function.
So you basically use Kitsu.io in Taiga and then Kitsu updates MAL.

Just switch to Anilist. It's dead easy, you can export and import your list.

Anilist looks nicer too!!

From my profile:

I've switched to Anilist due to bad management at MAL.

It's easy to export, and import your list.

Anilist is bizarre. Can't +1 episode from the main anime's page like I can on MAL (have to go to your own list, which isn't ideal if you're watching a ton of stuff). doesn't timestamp each episode. Didn't import my rewatches. Missing a lot of anime still. API is really it's only advantage.
