First, he seemed like some maniac with samurai ideals and death wish for his whole nation, who conspire and make this Nishida-Hirokawa-Gowa triumvirate for coup d'etat the government. Then bum. He makes world peace. Or prevent second pearl harbor if u want. |

| I can't help wondering if that was a ploy to make the viewer sympathise with an otherwise dangerous character, who in a way was even more dangerous than the "reptilian" Kazukiyo. Apart from that though, his exchanges with various other characters including the "shadow emperor" made for some extremely engaging philosophical debate. |
