| *Sigh* And this is the biggest problem with the anime adaptation. Because of what Root A did, consuming this story through just the anime is basically the equivalent of reading the 1st 60-whatever chapters of Tokyo Ghoul ("covered," sort of, by season 1), then skipping the remaining 80 chapters (or getting a VERY basic summary of it) and moving on to TG:re. They should have done a proper continuation of season 1 before making this. That most likely would have been butchered as well but it would at least make it so that people who haven't read the manga, or in the case of OP, are unable to read the manga, aren't confused while watching :re. That could also make watching the alternate route abomination that was Root A optional. |
