Well, haven't really been up to date with the Spring season. Only Spring anime I've been watching is GGO alternative. Nothing's really caught my eye so far, but that may because I haven't watched a lot of the original series of the sequels. I would try to watch a bit of all of them I find even a bit interesting, but between final exams and watching older anime, I don't have that much time.

So then, any suggestions (btw rather not watch action-y anime). Any thing that's really stood out this season?

+1 for Hinamatsuri. Based on 4 episodes aired the anime is really underrated IMHO.

Wotaku ni Koi wa Muzukashii - quite fun romcom between otakus.

Comic Girls - The season's SOL CGDCT with pretty amusing character interactions.

Steins; Gate 0 - Enough said, just watch it.

I'm not entirely sure if my personal tastes will fit yours but out of the ones I'm watching I'd recommend these:

Comic Girls: while at first this CGDCT was nothing more than serviceable, it is improving and thanks to its animation and visual identity it has a lot of energy that at the very least makes for a fun viewing.

Hinamatsuri: absurd comedy with sensitive social topics. Kind of like Gintama in a way but not the exact same style, a drier and less overemphasized one. It's shaping up to be a rather unique comedy and very effective at what it tries.

Hisone to Maso-tan: while there's some little action it is mostly a character-driven story of the MC getting used to her new position in the army. Very funny, very self-aware and so far trying to not take itself too seriously. Everything about it feels really unique and refreshing in execution. My favourite of the season.

Megalo Box: I don't even like boxing, I am not interested in sports anime, and this one has me, so it says something. Retro-styled art and great animation for a very stereotypical story that is either way very addictive.

Wotaku ni Koi wa muzukashii: very entertaining and endearing romcom about otaku and gamers. While I expected it to be a little too heavy in references, it actually manages to insert them while being genuinely funny in a more natural and laid-back way.

Also, for shorts, check definitely:

Fumikiri Jikan: little stories of people waiting at the level crossing of the train. It is very mundane, but there is something about the comedy that makes it unique and at points really daring. It's like it has its own comedic identity.

Uchuu Senkan Tiramisù: this one is just hilarious. Stupid as fuck, yeah, and rather gross at times, but it's a guaranteed cheap laugh every week.

One I'm not liking too much but I'd still recommend to try is Rokuhoudou Yotsuiro Biyori. An iyashikei about four men running a tea shop, very chill and calmed, nice vibes all the way, a lot of foodporn and adorable cats. I wish I was enjoying it more because it's so my thing it hurts. But most people are loving it so it seems like a safe recommendation.

Hisone to Maso-tan- Finally! A chance to talk about this great show! The best MC of the season. Probably the best produced show of the season too. (Seriously it's gorgeous) It's laid back now, but it is being written by Mari Okada so I expect a lot of Drama later on. Seriously under watched more people should keep this show on their radar.

Golden Kamuy-It has a pretty interesting premise. It's basically treasure hunting. The two main characters have a really good chemistry and it's a fun history lesson to boot.

Those are my two favorites but they're other good ones like Megalo Box and Gegege no Kitaro is a guilty pleasure.
Avoid Dances with the Dragons. It's a piece of shit.

Beatless
Caligula
Dances With the Dragons (Saredo Tsumibito wa Ryuu to Odoru)
Darling in the FranXX
Devil's Line
Legend of the Galactic Heroes: Die Neue These

Also you'd need to watch the previous seasons first, but I'd also highly recommend Full Metal Panic: Invisible Victory.

Darling in the Franxx, Megalo Box, Hinamatsuri, Wotaku ni Koi wa Muzukashii, and 3D Kanojo: Real Girl are the ones I'm watching this season. I'm considering GGO Alternative too.

No point mentioning sequels so you may wanna check out Hisone to Maso-tan.

If you want a pair of glasses by the end of the season then watch Megalo Box.

Thanks for the suggestions everyone! I'll probably look into it more, but as of now definitely planning on watching Hinamatsuri and Comic Girls.

I actually considered watching Hisone to Maso-tan a while ago, but didn't find myself that interested. I'll reconsider since it seems to be well received here.

A niche pick, but Lupin III: Part V.

Hold on, it may sound like a sequel to an existing anime (which it technically is), but it can stand on it's own entirely.

Lupin III is a infamous thief known around the world for announcing what/when he'll steal something before he does so. In this series, he is faced with performing thievery against modern technology. Bounty hunters that want to capture him form the "Lupin Game". Anybody in the world can use their smart devices to get pictures of Lupin and submit them for points. In addition, they can watch livestreams of his heists and bet on his capture.

It's a very good series so far.

Though not necessary, you can watch the following to get a better understanding of the characters:

Lupin III: Castle of Cagliostro - Movie, 1979, directed by Hayao Miyazaki
Lupin III: Part IV (aka Lupin III 2015) - Series, 2015, 27 episodes.

+Lupin III - You don't really need experience with Lupin to watch this. There are a bunch of references to earlier shows at the outset, but they don't matter to the story at hand. There's Lupin and his usual gang of compatriots, gunman Jigen Daisuke, katana-wielding Goemon Ishikawa XIII, and the always seductive and always dangerous Mine Fujiko. As always Lupin is pursued by Inspector Zenigata, but in this version many, many more people are pursing Lupin.

The lack of enthusiasm for Golden Kamuy is quite surprising and saddening.

I also recommend GeGeGe no Kitarou. Like Lupin it's a remake of a long-lived franchise, but a remake that doesn't depend very heavily on its predecessors. Here are the basics: Kitarou is the last member of the "Ghost Tribe;" his father is an eyeball on legs. Kitarou wears his hair to cover the empty socket. In this incarnation he's a supernatural policeman of sorts who, with other supernatural colleagues, thwart demons threatening humankind. So far we've seen the perennial character, greedy Rat-man, an assortment of demons-of-the-week, and various girls. Another perennial character, Neko-Musume is a half-human/half-yokai that can transforms into a terrifying cat demon.

Kitarou's back story appears in the 2007 noitaminA version called Hakaba Kitarou. It's more mature with a stronger horror component. It also has one of the best OPs I've ever heard, "Mononoke Dance." The OP, but not the show, was directed by Nakamura Kenji after he completed Mononoke, also for Toei.

Remakes are always a hit-or-miss proposition, but these versions of both Lupin and Kitarou can easily stand on their own.
