Highschool of the Dead. This friend of mine that lived next door and I played with everyday one day came talking about it. I didn't really paid attention to it until months later. Facebook pages I liked sometimes posted about anime, and I started to like anime pages and get to know anime more. Eventually I remembered Highschool of the Dead and since I had it as reference, I started to watch it back in Summer 2013. After it I started High School DxD and it has been my favorite anime ever since.
The first anime that I saw was probably Rurouni Kenshin and Hunter x Hunter 1999 version. It was way back 2004 and I was 7 yrs old back then. I remember watching it everyday and I didn't even know at the time that it was an anime, I only know that it's a cartoon. It is one of my best childhood memories and I will never forget and regret it because it paved the way to a WHOLE NEW WORLD OF ANIME. A thing I will proudly remember until the day I die.
Back before I knew that anime was a different thing from cartoons, I used to watched Pokemon, Yu-Gi-Oh and Beyblade, but grew out of those (except Pokemon)
My first conscious decision to watch an anime was about 3 years ago when I watched Tokyo Ghoul on Netflix. While it's not my absolute favourite anymore. It still holds a place in my heart as the show that introduced me to anime.
When i was a kid i watched pokemon(in game i was so pissed of when my friend turf off the game boy and didnt take the loss), dragonball z, yugioh(waste money for cards) and one piece (Ntreik in greek dub) but i didn't know they ware called anime. So what get me to watching anime was first Death Note and second Fullmetal Alchemist.
Well... the first anime I ever watched was Pokemon and I saw it on the TV on cartoon Network . And all this was probably 8 or 9 years ago . I didn't even know back then that it was an anime , thought I was watching a new cartoon .... 😅 that's childhood for you
Attack on Titan (other than pokemon which I won't count bc I didn't know it was anime)
I was introduced to it by the president of my school's anime club. I saw introduced but in reality, it was more like forced. See, he was also a nationally ranked wrestler and captain for the wrestling team. You don't really say no to that kind of guy when you're just a freshman. Another thing is that he told me not to look at anything related to AoT before watching it (ie: synopsis). This made that crazy scene from ep 1 absolutely terrifying. I had no idea what to expect beforehand, and that scene blindsided me like a truck!
Pokemon on TV like a decade ago. (Didn't know about anime)
Blue Exorcist (?) on Crackle I think, probably like 2011 or whenever it came out. Friend loved it and shared the show with me. Ended up watching a few others on Crackle. Nurahiyaon no Mago, FF7 Movie (I think), Rurouni Kenshin and I think that was it.
I didn't get into the scene actively until like 2013. Didn't have anything left on TV, got tired of reruns, ended up watching stuff on Netflix. Eventually ran over the anime category and started watching. Ended up keeping it going from there for about a year then Netflix's library wasn't cutting it for me and I moved to streaming through like KissAnime for awhile.
After awhile I switched to downloading and that's where I am now.
If the sight of the blue skies
fills you with joy, if a blade of
grass springing up in the fields
has power to move you, if the
simple things of nature have a
message that you understand,
rejoice, for your soul is alive.
