I wouldn't be surprised at all if Pito is that singer in real life. Because it's way too big to be a coincidence xD She has a wedding on 1 of February, and the concert is on the same day. As i may assume, the next episode will continue where the 1st one ended, can't wait to see more battle royale fights. ![]() |
This episode was okay. It kind of slowed down a bit. Still, I enjoyed when LLENN and M were talking about guns. Let's see what happens in the next episode. ![]() |
Damn, I'm still cracking at the author inserting himself and having his characters diss him. Sooo meta xD ![]() |
Definitely love the rather laid-back atmosphere compared to the original series. It's really able to capture the mood of playing a game. The characters are all quite fun to watch and chill with. If Pito is Elsa, she will now know LLENN's real-life identity. I highly suspect "M" is for Elsa's manager. ![]() |
Gorgeous girl doesn't like to stand out so she enters a game where she is a Loli, wears pink and hangs out with two weirdos Anime Logic. HumbertoZero said: Well, I'm actually enjoying this anime. It has guns, I like guns; using games as escape; cute characters, and not cute characters than can be interesting too; real life events and no edgy threat like in SAO. I'll expand a bit more. I like guns, I play many games with guns and to be honest my favorite arc in SAO was the GGO arc. Not just because of Sinon but the actual game. Removing Kirito from all this was a great choice. Using games (or anime, or anything) as escape? We all do. The difference lies in what each one of us chooses (and is able to) to escape from "reality". Some people chooses drugs, some others alcohol, some others women, some other people choose videogames. I like the scene in which Pitohui said "I'm doing the same" as it made me realize of something so trivial and obvious that I ignored. Everyone has a reason to be there. Who is she really? What is she there? Not just to have fun, really, why? If you can't do it in real life better do it here, and make a lot of noise. Cute characters? Well of course! Cute characters sell, let's not deny it but the contrast of cuteness and badassery in this show is kinda cool. Llenn all super pink, yet she yells "I'm gonna kill everyone" hahaha or Pito, well, she goes around looking hot and killing everything (also getting shot by Sinon). M is the only not cute-girl character but I expect him to be good. I mean, I think there's a reason they didn't make him into a pretty boy (let alone making a second Kirito) And finally, NO EDGY DEATH SENTENCE PLOT! Just ordinary people dealing with real life problems using videogames. Wonderful. Woo, this comment ended up being longer than I expected it to be. I hope someone reads it all xD They bashed SAO when they showed them dealing with life and at least they had motives to try to forget their problems even inside the game ![]() |
Lmao so many tallfags in this thread like gtfo you're in the wrong place. ![]() Mirai Nikki is TRASH Angel Beats is horrible. Charlotte is a dumpster fire. Shinsekai Yori has no characters. So this episode is where Pito Introduced LLENN the big mountain dude sniper...who is expert at knife combat. His primary equipment is M14-EBR and secondary is HK45. Cool! Frustrated cuz her only school friend wasn't able to get a hold of concert tickets? and then put all your frustrations and disappointments to that VR game! 5/5. ![]() |
Ah you guys keep repeating each other, yes, Pito is most likely Kanzaki! And M is most likely her bodyguard (good guess on that one, @Draconix814 ). The real question there is I keep expecting this show to steer towards some kind of IRL drama... could it be that Karen will get involved in a plot on Kanzaki's life? Maybe Karen will become Kanzaki's new bodyguard! Hahah that would be great..! Also curious, is how Pito will react to the letter if she is indeed Kanzaki (which she almost certainly is), since Karen basically revealed herself entirely in the letter. So now Pito/Kanzaki has all the cards... so much for that promised IRL meeting! Maybe she'll be nice and surprise her with front row tickets to one of her concerts ;-) As far as Karen being beautiful IRL, you're totally right. But, its true that a beautiful person can pretty easily think of themselves as ugly; a sad situation whenever it occurs, but it does occur. These people, Karen, Pito, M, they're not quite mentally stable. But that makes them more interesting, I think. ![]() ♫ やっと見つけた織姫様 だけどどこだろう彦星様 これじゃひとりぼっち ♫ "Just like my arms... can never be soft and warm, like yours are" |
SoraSenpai said: Pito mentions being taken out by a Sniper and how there were two people who worked together in BoB...but the title of the next episode makes me reconsider that thought process. If Pito was taken out by Sinon though then thats pretty awesome. Yeah, I loved this idea too. Would be super cool if Pito had a cameo somewhere in SAOII! But, I suspect if that had happened someone here would have mentioned it already... :-( At any rate I liked them referencing SAOII, but I find it a bit odd that Pito just glazed over the fact that people involved with that were getting murdered IRL... ![]() ♫ やっと見つけた織姫様 だけどどこだろう彦星様 これじゃひとりぼっち ♫ "Just like my arms... can never be soft and warm, like yours are" |
After seeing this episode the questions in my head have increased, but only one is the one I'm most interested in knowing after seeing the photograph of the idol: perhaps the thing that in a certain sense binds Llenn and Pito, is due to their height and at their age. The narration, despite tracing certain scenes seen in the first episode, is still interesting because those same scenes are integrated with further knowledge on the field of weapons and fighting techniques; I'm not a fanatic, but I love learning new things. ![]() |
uninstallthegame said: pretty much obvious at this point that the singer girl is pito. also, who the fuck writes fan letters like that? "today i played cs:go and killed some nubs from p50, i really like the recoil of that gun and my sticker of dickbutt on it" and she said "it hurts" when pito patted her on the shoulders, then what is the feeling of getting shot? u can feel pain in this game? mmmm, sadisctic that and it bothers me that the setting of the show is in the future but sending letters and mailboxes are still a thing, then a modern looking car passing by afterwards lol ![]() |

Did anyone elts feel like this episode fell back on some of the canon series main problems? I feel like there's a lot of extra dialogue in there that we did not need as an audience, and they repeated alot of info we already knew from previous episodes. ![]() |
Theory time: Pito is possibly the singer that Llenn listens to? That would explain why she cant participate in the tournament...because she is performing the concert. And she got M to participate with Llenn because she couldnt. She knows him irl so he must be her manager or something? Feel like they are mentioning the singer so much it cant just be for show. Shes gotta be in here somewhere and I think Pito being her fits. Thoughts? ![]() |

Referencing Kirito and Sinon because of their victory in BOB was a little neat thing, and how Squad Jam even became a thing in the first place. I'm glad that they threw the little training montage in, so we know how much M knows about LLENN in terms of battle states I know I'm jumping to the conclusion straight away but I have a feeling Pito is that singer. Not too sure what M is to Pito yet, hopefully, it gets foreshadowed later ![]() Heckle was here... |
It's baffling how many people still aren't convinced Pito and that singer are one and the same. This series is as predictable as can be. Plus, it's stated on the seiyuu's resume. ![]() |
managMent said: I've not read the source material myself, but I can almost confirm Pito is Elsa. The fan letter was way too damn specific, it wouldn't take a genius to connect the dots.Just a theory, which I got by watching this episode. I haven't read the mangas. Could it be, that Elsa is Pito? As they've zoomed into her, she looked kinda similar to pito, and that might be the surprise, and the reason why pito couldnt attend the tournament, would be the concert she gave. Besides, the episode is entirely pointless if this isn't the case. Literally the only important part is that it establishes is Elsa's concert (which Karen was unable to go) is the same day as SJ. Most of the episode is just rehashing character traits that could be inferred from the first 2 episodes and vaguely explaining SJ, with the only new info being what I mentioned above, Pito knowing M irl and Pito introducing M to LLENN. Daniel_Naumov said: Nah M is free to play SJ on the concert day.OR, maybe, M is Elsa Kanzaki and that would be a di-sas-tah. uninstallthegame said: To be fair you might be expecting a little too much of the writing, this is the anime that thought it OK to leave literal immortal objects on the field every time a player dies for a FPS game.pretty much obvious at this point that the singer girl is pito. also, who the fuck writes fan letters like that? I wonder if the anime will make us wait until episode 12 to reveal the glaringly obvious fact that Pito is the singer LLENN likes... Also wow...these past couple episodes are like 90 percent exposition. I really hope it gets a bit more interesting now that the game is starting. ![]() |
The back story is finished, finally time for some action in the next few eps~ I actually like Karen's design more than the LLENN form lol. ![]() |
Really enjoying this, although, the non-linear sequencing is starting to get to me... Oh, I got a giggle out of M's little knife lesson. P.S. Lol gun otaku author cameo. It's bit slow but lots of info & game mechanics (& guns). The character introspection with Karen & the others were good, kino no tabi ish, and totally different plot feel than usual sao & this peculiar author quite explains it. Design's cute both irl & in game. M being robotic & awkward kinda hints at some military nut (or criminal) who might be tiny & weak irl. More of training arc always welcome, it's quite specific & good tactics, tho the knife use seems overkill for games. ![]() |
Episode 3 really hyped me up for something I already saw in Episode 1. Should I re-watch it now? ![]() Signature removed. Please follow the signature rules, as defined in the Site & Forum Guidelines. |

Currently watched up to the most episode, and I gotta say. This show is defiantly much better than SAO & SAO2. Loving the way the story has gone about so far, and feel more attached to the characters. More than I did to Kirito through those two seasons and movie. ![]() |
Good buildup all the way back to the first episode where we saw the pretty action packed start. Pretty solid approach for an anime like this and in general great character development, so let's see what happens next. ![]() |
I like how they sort of mentioned Kirito and Sinon and how their action ended up creating the Squad Jam. Despite Pito saying that she didn't listen to music, I still think that she's Elsa Kanzaki the musician. Besides, she Pito never said anything about being a musician/singer! If this was the case, then LLENN can say goodbye to her avatar name as Pito would know of the real LLENN, Karen... If only Karen is living in a country with people of taller average height, she won't have this height complexity. She's still cute in both her loli and IRL appearance though! ![]() B A B A B O E Y |

So everything comes full circle. Didn't realize the first episode was en medias res. Very well done. I enjoyed watching everything chronologically leading up to the first episode unravel. M HAS to be ex-military. There's no way he learned all that just from playing the game. Games these days do a good job at coming as close to real life as possible, but nothing as detailed as that. ![]() |
