depends on the purpose.

either youll watch it to convince yourself that an anime that youve watched is likeable. u didnt find it that way at first watch so youll give it another go, which is the stupid one btw, its not worth it

but for remembering purposes, its worth rewatching. but advisably not the whole series, just the movie. unlucky of u if the anime youre planning to watch didnt release a summary movie

i always do this especially when i really loved the anime and its story, it actually lets me learn new things and focus more on what im watching and understand it better even though i already knew what would happen.

Seriously tho.. why making a big deal? There's no thing as "worth it" or not, rewatching is like listening to an album again. If you don't love it anymore you just happen to change your mind on something.

i rewatch anime all the time. usually i wait a few years tbh, after i forget a lot of the details.
in some shorter time spans, i sometimes form different opinions on characters or the plot in general.
for example, i've been rewatching hunter x hunter lately, and i almost love the show more than i did the first time around. however, i like gon's character less. after some time, my perspective can change a little.

i personally love rewatching anime i really liked just to see the moments that make me go all "yessss." lol.

I've rewatched dbz, trigun, fmab, ghost in the shell stand alone complex, and Yu Yu Hakusho and felt I enjoyed it even more. I'm currently re-watching hunter x hunter in english dub rn and love it. Re-watch your favs!! I'm excluding all the movies i've seen like 100/200 times for obvious reasons *cough cough Princess Mononoke*

It depends on what the anime is. I rewatched Madoka Magica and it was a different experience compared to first time watching it.

Rewatching is always good for your highly rated shows, because you can appreciate the little details better and maybe get a different feel with dub for example. Get a friend and watch together.

Sometimes I just don't feel like investing my time into a new anime. I rewatch anime all the time, I just do it in moderation. Sitting there rewatching something multiple times in the course of a month is a little excessive.

i don't update my list. i don't think watching anime is a pissing contest, and i don't feel like going back and looking through all the anime i watched over the past 20+ years. i first made an account here what a couple years ago? why do i need to make a list? is it some kind of level system of weeaboo? waste of time and effort. Pointless for me, especially. I can understand someone somewhat new to it and wanting to watch as many different anime marking off each one they've seen, but for me, it's already too late. It would just be a hassle, and won't work the way it was intended. I hope you can understand. I thought about starting it from a specific point but i ended up dropping it halfway through a season.

as for mid 00s, hmm.. what came out, oh the big three. I haven't watched them personally, because I was already out of highschool, and had a job etc. toonami wasn't on my schedule. I just watched anime that I had specifically downloaded and purchased at that point. but umm.. lol. it's hard to see your point. like, you think anime suddenly went to shit, idk, why, maybe cuz your favorite anime came out in the mid 2000s and nothing has lived up to the hype since? tell me.

Why do you need to make a list? Idk dude because that's tell whole fucking point of this site, I mean. It's called [i]MyAnimeList[/i/] for a reason

Yeah basically everything good babe out in the mid 00 also I haven't watched the big 3 and don't know what toonami is

For me personally it would depend on the anime, anything that I was really into or felt strong emotions while watching usually comes back for a rewatch every now and then. I have even liked a series or show so much I rewatched it right away and still felt the same value from it if not more so than the first time.

I've heard a lot of opinions on this forum mine might differ from others but I firmly believe this. So I've been watching anime for quite a while and the first show I got the urge to rewatch was toradora! (It's a masterpiece) I really enjoyed the show the first time I watched it but for some reason (probably because it's a romance anime) I felt as though it wasn't fulfilling the second time while I did feel joy watching it again nothing will ever come close to the first time

I would say yes, I tend to rewatch some anime after a long time has passed, my standards change a lot over time and I like to see if the series holds up or if it's better/worse than I remember. Sometimes this can lead to rediscovering a series I originally wasn't very fond of and finding a new appreciation of it, or a realization that it's not really that good in the end, or it could make me appreciate a series I already liked even more.
Who are you and why do you show your hostility towards a complete stranger whom you've not once spoken with before. Are you seriously asking to get blocked? Well, if that's what your intent is; to tempt me into throwing hands with someone as lowly and insignificant as you, then i may grant your wish provided you articulate yourself a bit better when trying to spite a person of my wavelength.

did you truly enjoy a anime if you can't re watch it?

I honestly believe it is. Especically if you haven't completely grapsed or completely understood the anime the first time you watched. Or maybe didn't completely feel it due to problems you could have had at the time.

Rewatching older, favorited anime is normal, yes....I feel like this is a pointless conversation though.

Are videogames worth replaying? Are movies worth Rewatching? Are Books worth Rereading?

If you love something I can't imagine a world where you wouldnt revisit it....

I've watch Akira, Elfen Lied, Gundam, Guilty Crown, High School of the Elite, and the OG berserk, and tons of series that were ultimitely cancelled more times than I can count. If a series got cancelled, all you have is what was made...

I would not consider the Mid 00's the golden age of anime. The spread of great anime is far bigger than just the mid 00's. Elfen Lied, Cowboy Bebop, Another, Akira, Psycho Pass,, Berserk, Ninja Scroll, NHK, Eden of The East...Anime ranging from the 80's and 90's had amazing, groundbreaking movies and shows, and the early 2010's had amazing shows as well. I would say anime really started going downhill just a few years ago around 2016 in general, but only because of the trend toward moe/slice of life and Isekai being the majority of releases.

The Mainline Fate series (Zero, UBW, and Heavens Feel) came out after "The mid 2000's", and they are standards of story AND animation. AoT and Erased are also great examples of what modern anime can accomplish, not to mention the greatest gundam series to this day, Gundam The Origin.

I guess it depends on if you are a big Shonen nerd or Seinen/ mature anime, but either way, I think the current generation is the worst in comparison to the 80's-2016.

Yes, it’s 100% worth it but I would at least wait 6-7 months to at least a year to even considering rewatching the series I want to see again. If I was 14,15 still, l’ll be watching only dub & rewatching anime more than watching new ones, but I can’t do that now since adult life has taken over lol.

All the series that I’ve watched in dubbed too will be rewatch in subbed no matter how long that takes lol

is it worth it...? YES. honestly, most times i just rewatch anime. its really hard to part from my favourites. i get these anime cravings where im just watching something, and all of a sudden, im reminded of a certain anime, and so i cave, and go back to it.
the problem with rewatching... i learned the hard way that the more you rewatch it, the more chance you'll get used to it... like, you know you love the scene, you love the joke or whatever is happening, but you can't smile because you've seen it too many times... that kind of feeling effing sucks lol. so with rewatching its important to space it out, so its more fresh in the mind. that's what i learned anyway.

Well, if it's a plot driven anime many years should pass for me to rewatch it. That's why i binge them, when you binge you quickly forget them. Maybe one day I'll be able to watch them again, who knows.

Now when an anime has good sound design, beautiful art, is character driven, atmospheric etc you can rewatch it as much as you like. That's kinda rare though.
I should have known it.

Mostly no. Depends of the anime in most cases.
All weebs creatures of the galaxy, hear this message. Those of you who listen will not be struck by western animation. You will no longer know hunger, nor pain. Your Anime have come to lead you now. Our strength shall serve as a luminous sun toward which all intelligence may blossom. And the impervious shelter beneath which you will prosper. However, for those who refuse our offer and cling to their western animation ways… For you, there will be great wrath.

Yeah I rewatch anime pretty frequently. I just finished rewatching xxxHolic - something I watched when I was a teenager. I wanted to rewatch since I couldn't really remember much. I'm rewatching Kiddy Grade right now for the same reason.

I'll also sometimes watch a show and then decide my husband will like it. He's not as big a fan of anime as I am, so we don't usually watch things together for the 1st time. I'll watch something and then if I think he'll like it, we'll watch it together. This season I watched Wonder Egg Priority and Mushoku Tensei by myself, and at around episode 7 for each of them I rewatched with him so then we could watch the new episodes together.

There are also some anime that are just so good, I'll give a rewatch every few years. Ghibli movies, Sailor Moon, Blue Spring Ride, and FMAB are a few of those.

To me personally it isn't. Most of my enjoyable of a show is only from the first time so the second time just feels like a poor man's version of watching it for the first time. I'd rather spend my time watching similar shows on the off chance that one will be as good as one of my favourites than rewatch one of my favourites.
