There are some anime out their that have weak start and gets better later. However, if anime has weak start I often drop it because I don't have time to waste on anime that I might not like later
Good example, stein gate and yu yu hakusho had weak start but got better later. I would not have liked these shows if I did not force myself to watch it.

Is this show good from early episodes ?! I'm not a big fan of non-action slice of life anime. So, I want to know if this is worth watching. If I did not like for example the 1st 3 episodes then does that mean I won't like the whole show ?!

ALso, how this show compare to Chihayafuru ?! Chihayafuru was one of my favorite shows of all time and I'm happy that it got 3rd season.

I aslo like Koe no Katachi movie, which is listed as one of the recommendation

On the other had, I dropped Shouwa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu from 1st episode, I was not able to get into it

Many have said that the anime starts out boring for them (and gets better like Steins;Gate and shows of its ilk), but if you are a fan of Koe no Katachi then by the first episode you would have your answer. The two has a lot of tonal and thematic similarities, to the point where its frightening at times. I was hooked by episode 1.

Showa Genroku was a great drama too, but even I was bored until the later epsodes and especially the second season. That said, they aren't that similar until later in both shows.

Haven't watched Chihayafuru, I think they're both game anime and that's it. That said, you don't need to know anything about shogi to enjoy March comes in like a Lion.

Dropping the real answers.

The first season in itself is not really worth watching. I don't know about the second season, but for the first season alone it doesn't even compare to Honey and Clover.

1 episode actually. I think that pretty gives a summary of what to expect, if you don't like it then it's obviously not for you considering it's quality is retained all through out and doesn't really have any inconsistencies in between that makes something stand out

I just finished this anime and that was after months of putting it off. I had seen 5 episodes and hadn't really become entrances with it.

The excitement of the Shogi matches are not really shown until a couple of episodes in. I dropped it after 5 and then picked it up again and I was not dissapointsd.

If say give it 7 episodes.

I'm commenting after watching every episode. Episode one does not speak for the entire anime but it does at the same time. If you want some existentially detailed anime then you may have found what you are looking for but you won't know that until you watch it in it's entirety. I love anime in general and think there is a time and place for each one, however, if you have to ask after seeing one or two episodes then it may not be your pace. In my opinion it's a great watch episode for episode.

Just scrolling down your favorites, just remember that Kentarou Miura also thinks March is a masterpiece, the end card for the first episode of both seasons are drawn by him. Not saying that you will definitely love it if you like Berserk, but if you could consider why Miura might feel a deep connection to it before or while you're watching it, then it shouldn't be hard to get invested at all.

Just do the 3-episode rule. 3 is usually all it takes to know if you'll like an anime or not.

Hard to say I was basically hooked after the first episode. This is a slow drama show but I like em like that. So Stein's Gate is like that too. Mmmh then I might need to give that show another chance because the first two episodes didn't really impress me.

Actually I put it on-hold for a couple of weeks after watching 3 episodes, but then came back in just the right mood to watch. There weren't any breakthrough episodes so to speak, but it's so satisfying becase it gradually gets so better towards the end. That said, based on OPs taste I think he won't like it.

I hated steins;gate, koe no katachi and 3-gatsu no lion from the start. Unrealistic characters and boring plot. Only for people that think being sad makes them special.
