| People seem to not appreciate the early stages of Gurren Lagann, and mainly the character interactions in the first episodes, and I really can't find why, the animation is exceptional, the show inspires a great spirit, and Kamina is the best thing ever. Sure, the whole thing becomes bigger and greater in the later episodes, and people have different opinions, but Kamina and Yoko's romance, which I find aproppiate (since the manliness and leadership he inspires through everyone give the "non-found" reasons of Yoko falling in love with him, an actual reason), is like, really hated? Simon is just pointed out as a stupid pussy, while he is just scared and a little uninspired. The whole thing is called boring or stupid by lots of people, Why? I'm open to debate. |

| The first eight episodes had some truly amazing moments, I didn't like the hunger episode with bad animation, but most of it was fantastic. Surprised to hear that people think lowly of the Kamina episodes. |

| Because they compare them to the real bombastic characters and moments like Ippo, Takamura, Joseph Joestar, and etc. That's probably my theory why they dont think it's as impressive as people speak about. |

| While the last episodes have some of the best moments in the series, the Kamina episodes do too. The sixth episode is a perfect comedy episode (which also secretly moves the story forward, with the reveal of the Spiral King), and the eighth episode is one of the most sad (the end) and moving (Giga Drill Break!) scenes. Even the very first couple of episodes are great, the first one was especially wonderful. |
