I was wondering if this show will be carried beyond the 2 video? I really loved it and would like to se it go on. It really is hard to find something like this and when you do find it, it's great! I'm a 57 yr old grandmother and hope this series carries on.

Mod Edit: Modified title for clarity and/or easier searching.

If you want to continue and find out more, granny, you can always try to read the manga if you are into that. Cause having sequels in the anime industry 😒

welcome to myanimelist, let me give you a guide...

asnow white with the red hair is shoujo, which mean anime that it main demography is teen female.... it's already rare for anime.... it's adapted from a comic with the same name... it's need to be understood that anime is mainly for original source ads, so complite adaptation is very unlikely.... it also not selll that much.... if you want more storis, read the comics... sadly, the comic isn't licenced in english... you can find the unofficial version on the internet....

however, there is some recomendation given by Myanimelist users if you want to watch anime similar to this... here is the link

Apparently a s3 was confirmed in production for 2020/21 but I’m not sure on the validity of that. It has been 4 years since s2 but I sure hope it gets green lit for further production.

A season 3 hasn’t been confirmed, however I heard the manga got published in English last year, and if that sells well than we can probably hope for a Season 3 in mid 2021 or even early 2022. It all depends on the manga I’m afraid.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say this person is not going to be reading manga anytime soon.
Seems they just want some nice shows to watch, & getting into manga is a whole other world (especially for someone new to anime). While normally a good recommendation, i don't think it is in this instance.

I would recommend looking at the related anime list someone else linked. The first recommendation Yona of the Dawn is amazing. A different kind of story as there is a bit more action, but it's heart warming and earnest none the less.

I didn't see Kamisama Kiss recommended, so I'll throw that in. Very sweet romance anime with gentle protagonist with supernatural elements.

Both are available on Hulu, which I'm going to assume where you watched Snow White.

I wonder if overseas sales of the manga have any influence on the production of an anime apadtation.

It is quiet popular in some other countries aswell, but will that changes anything?

Published in other countries:

French: 21 volumes
German: 20 volumes
English: 12 volumes
Polish: 12 volumes
Italian v01 in 2021

I mean, never say never.

A positive example is Chihayafuru that got a new season 6 1/2 years after its last one.
A negative one would be Akatsuki no Yona, 6 years since the first season and ~5 since the last OVA.
And both seem to sell okayish (have no numbers, but well enough that they are still sold) in the US. Yona is at volume 27, Chihayafuru at 23.

Back to Shirayukihime, season 2 ended at volume 8, so they have more than enough material for a third season.
But when would they actually consider making a third season? In order to boost the manga sales? Or when the series is close to completion?
Or is the demand for a third season high enough that streaming/licensing fees and DVD/BR and merch sales would be able to cover the costs for a third season?

I am sure they would already work on a third season if the financial outcome looked promising. So I assume it simply doesn't?
