Gao competing in his own cup?

We can all agree that, after 200+ episodes, Gao has legendary buddyfight status. And he deserves tournament cup that named after him (Gao Genuine Gameface). Usually a person featured in organized event name is already dead (like Alfred Nobel/Nobel Prize), if still alive he/she will only involved as president/committee/judge/advisor/sponsor. So it's strange that Gao will also participating in this cup as competitor.
