| Sometimes it's the only way. It was rare, but I think everytime I got beaten by my mother, I deserved far worse by being obnoxious and spoiled. If words clearly weren't enough for me to stop, I deserved that slap. Nothing backwards about it. |

| Stop bumping these depressing threads man. It's TMI, I've mentioned some of it a few times before here, but yeah damn they were unique with it. It's not like I'm going to find another human being who experienced the same treatment as I did for years anytime soon. I don't think I'll ever recover from that bullshit, especially since I was the scapegoat of all of it, and it was done in public most of the time and nobody seemed to be worried for me. Heck, they even abused me in front of some police officers once because I was too weak to stand and they did nothing to interfere. This world is crap. Nowadays it's just continuous neglect in pretty much every form, severe controlling/restrictions, and emotional abuse, pretty much extremist helicopter parents, and verbal abuse, especially from someone who's just some random stranger pretty much... he's not my step-father, he does nothing for us. |

| No, beating children can just make them more violent when they grow up, disciplining should be done through talking. IMO its way better to make your child want to make you happy instead of not wanting to make you angry |

| My mother always hits me on the head, when I was small she also used to hit me with her slippers. I was a selfish and stubborn child and her beatings had no effect on me, in fact I just became worse. These days it more verbal than physical unless I make her really mad. My father never hit me but has other ways to discipline me like throwing me on the floor, dragging me on the ground with my legs, tying me up, stuffing my mouth with my hair, plastic bags or cloth, once he even tried to strangle me. I lost a tooth because of him. |
