No idea what age but I'm pretty sure it was early elementary school lol. I think my first game was this Tiny Toon Adventures game on the original Game Boy. Then I think it was Pokemon Blue? Those were the first games I owned haha.

Before that I know I used to go to my cousin's house to play Super Mario and Duck Hunt on SNES.

It isn't the funniest game ever, but my family used to have whole Dr. Mario championships (my mom, uncles, cousins, ... everyone played it during Christmas Eve) :')

Technically, my first was Sears Rocket Launch. Though I admit, I'm really stretching the definition of video game here; thing was completely electromechanical. I was real young, like five or six. I also had an even more primitive game where you "drove" a small plastic car attached via a lever to the game's steering wheel along a continuously-scrolling paper map.

One of my parents' friends collected pinball machines and arcade cabinets, so I would play them whenever we went to visit. My favorites were Centipede and Zaxxon.

As for home consoles, we got an NES for Christmas when I was about eight or nine years old, either Jaws or Super Mario Bros. was the first I played on there.

(Are titles of video games supposed to be italicized? I've seen them both ways.)

EDIT: I forgot about another quasi-video game I had before the NES. It was an educational game device that connected to the VCR. You would play the provided VHS tape, and it would ask multiple-choice questions. You answered by pressing one of the four colored buttons on the device. A signal embedded in the tape would tell the device whether to light up the green light for correct or the red light for incorrect.

When I got my first game I was 6 years old, I was a huge fan of hamtaro at the time and my parents bought me Hamtaro ham ham heartbreak for my birthday.

As silly as it may sound, I still love this game today, it's very fun to play and there are lots of things to explore.

Pokemon Yellow was mine. I was around three to four years old and mom had recently bought me a Gameboy, but i didn't had any games, when one of my cousins decided to give me one of their games, and lo and behold it was Pokemon Yellow.

I can't really name from the top of my head since I played so many, but one the first and most memorable games that I have played would be TES: Arena.
It's gotten to the point where existence itself has become nothing but a meme; an existence that I want nothing to do with anymore.

I remember I've been playing games since before I started elementary school. I started elementary school at age 5 so for games, it's earlier than that. At age 4 maybe. As for the first game... I can't clearly remember but Mario, Contra, or Duck Hunt on NES, it's one of those three, that's for sure.

Summertime days, passing gently
Sunlight, leading to an encounter;
Dreams that don't want to end
Continue onwards toward the next day

Ah yes... my first gaming experience. That was a mess.

My older brother has always been a big fan of video games, some of my earliest childhood memories are of myself watching him play. It was very rare I played them myself, but I have a lot of odd and random memories of Rayman, Crash Bandicoot, Sly Cooper, Spyro etc.

The first time he invited me to try, was to join with on the game Medal of Honor: Rising Sun. He always enjoyed war games.

...I wasn't very good at it... That's an understatement, I was terrible at it.

I ran around, not knowing how to control it. I ruined all attempts of strategy. I just ran in whatever direction looking straight at the sky, I had no aiming or directional skills whatsoever.

Nowadays, I'm still pretty bad at games, so I don't play them all too often.

Sonic The Hedgehog, Sonic The Hedgehog 2 or Mega Games 2 (Which came with Streets of Rage, Golden Axe and Revenge of Shinobi on one cartridge)

Can't remember which of those was the first one, but they all came with the console, so I would've played them all at a similar time.

It was the verecund, dismissed creatures
That I jubilated in most.

The anneal of noblesse.

Halo with my Dad in Co-Op mode lol. Or at least I think, I might have tried to play a few of my dad's 3D0 games (a console that now a days literally nobody has ever heard of lol, we only had one because he worked there) but I doubt I got past the first level on any of them since I wasn't even in the double digits yet in terms of age.
