Do you feel anime can be used as a teaching tool? It would save a lot of money if those training and safety videos were animated with help of Japan anime studies rather than spending some real money and risk to simulate the event in real.

What is anime gonna teach us? That the wimpiest guy can take the hottest girl? Or how to become a pedophile?

Ero Pattishie, how was the night?
Did you like the sister sandwich for dinner?
Or perhaps it was too sweet,
that you want more vanilla in the morning.
I'll put extra cream just for you.
Now it eat well, we still have more desserts.

If I were a teacher I’d show my students FMA to teach them about nazi Germany.

There are also some such; I remember there being an anime workout video somewhere.

Also there are a few books that are like "The Manga Guide to [subject]" I think, like "The Manga Guide to Statistics" or something.

This'd be nice yeah. Though it can be a little odd making animated shows about real-life animals, without showing the animals themselves in real-life footage.

You mean animated media, I doubt there is an anime which can be used as a teaching medium for whatever you wanna convey.

Why Japanese studios though? Its not like there are no other studios that produce animated media. While I agree it'd be cost effective but you have to take into account the target audience. If they're some middle aged people, I doubt they'd take animated things seriously and if they're kids they might even get th wrong idea.

The fact remains, anime is not for everybody and it should not be forced upon everybody either.

it would be a movie time i think. anime is like a game. for fun, enjoyment. not for study.

I can't find the YouTube video, but there was a podcast that had this college professor who uses anime with his student. It was really interesting. He started it by running an experiment and now he uses it as a major teaching tool to his college student.

Anything can be a teaching tool. You just have think outside the box.

i suppose series like Chihayafuru could be used in a middle-school literature class in Japan as a way of reinforcing what is already taught in class - namely the classical one hundred poems and what they mean.

series like hanayamata could be used to introduce foreigners to traditional Japanese dance (in this case, yosakoi)

saki could be used to introduce foreigners to japanese mahjong - and i suspect it's one of the reasons people outside japan became interested in mahjong in the first place.

shion no ou could be used to introduce foreigners to japanese shogi - assuming there's actually shogi gameplay in the series

as for manga, it can be used to teach pretty much anything.

It's just too stupid to think about it. I just only see anime as an entertainment.

Oh yeah anime can teach us a lot.
Like One Piece can teach about importance of friends and women.
Steins Gate about life.

yes, you can learn from just about anything if you put your mind to it.

as for training/safety videos ehhh, maybe a mix have live portion to show how it's done, and animated portions make the instructions clearer.

also they don't need to spend money to simulate the consequences, just go to WPD on reddit

Maybe we should with our own people and third world countries though to tackle overpopulation. China and India seem like they could use the harem MC method too.
