So, I may be beating a dead horse here, but why is this considered an anime and not Avatar? I bet most people in japan probably don't know this show exists in the first place (well they probably wouldn't like it, since it could hint at some of their own shortcomings during and after the war)...

Well maybe because it was also produced in Japan and avatar wasnt.

May be, but only the western world seems to care what anime is and what not. For japanese people everything animated is anime. Or so I was told...

Besides then why is RWBY a manga here. I thought manga would apply to the same regional lockdown.

@DonTrumpolino The RWBY manga was officially serialized and made by a Japanese company and has a Japanese author for it. Look it up.
And Alfred J Qwak is a Japanese production.
Avatar has no Japanese affiliation whatsoever.
If it had any, it would be listed on MAL.
That's how it works here.
