Nah, gotta embrace your inner nerd. If others judge you for it, then fuck'em.

No, why I would even care? Anime is just a medium, and like everything it has good points and bad points. And also... You don't find this in things that aren't anime, all this cuteness. I don't care if its moe, it's 100% cute.

PD: WTF does being a straight male have anything to do with liking this, lol? Everyone can like this

Ways I fell...

I fell asleep, I fell ill, I fell from grace, I fell down, I fell over, I actually fell UP once.
I fell in line, I fell out of line, I fell in love, and I fell out of love, but I have yet to fell ashamed.
Not quite sure how that's done, but if I figure it out I'll be sure to keep you posted.

As for the part "ashamed of yourself when watching anime", it's not something I can relate to.
I see that as a problem for people with that crippling disease called "I care what other people think about me or my hobbies".
You're never too old to watch anime.
If I ever stop watching anime, check my pulse I'm likely dead.

I wake up with coffee & anime, I go to sleep with coffee & anime.

Sorry if my sarcasm is bad, it's not my first language.

No.
If someone judges me for the way I life my life, that's their problem, not mine.

My friends, family and even extended family know I watch anime and really like bishies. Big whooping deal.

Why should I? I like what I like and there's nothing wrong with that. If I was a hentai watcher it would've been a different story but only because my family would make me feel embarrassed about it.

I wouldn't say that I feel shame, no, but sometimes I am annoyed at myself if I go overboard and watch the entire weekend.
But I am telling myself it's ok, because soon won't be able to do it, so might as well enjoy it while I can.

There is nothing to be ashamed of, it's no different than watching a series/movie with real actors, if you are not ashamed of that, I don't see why you would be ashamed of watching anime.

If you are watching shit, of course you feel shame, but same would be for watching a shit Tv show, or a shit book, no?

What does this have to do with being a straight male?

Aside from stereotyping straight males and what they want, of course.

So, how do you feel when some scene exceeds your tolerance?
I sometimes drop series because I get fed up with the fanservice, or the characters' behavior, or whatever. Then I just drop it and do something else, such as watch another series. Nothing to be ashamed of in that.

It depends on the genre. My friends probably won't stop bothering me about watching Shoujo or Shoujo Ai anime. Let alone any form of anime to begin with.

But no not really.

Try to watch Highschool DxD or Highschool of the Dead while you're riding the buss lol.

Yeah, please never do something like this.

Oh man, one day i recommended a friend of mine to watch Highschool DxD, (he started to watch anime cuz i let him saw like 2-3 chaps of Mirai Nikki and he literally just got addicted, he was a normie back at the time, 4 years ago), and some serious shit happened.

I never thought that he would watch it in his fucking TV full volume etc, (normies...), well happend that he invited his little bro (11 years maybe..) to watch that show in secret man (like come here watch nude grils!). He told me that his little brother was so displeased and so embarrased of him that he run away. His bro prob telld his mom came and well she saw nude gigantic boobs he never told me what scene......

Two month ago both of us graduate, i met his mom and dad they were proud of him taking selfies all the way, and when he introduced me, their faces just turned blank but i could felt the anger raging inside them, he knew he fckt up, they stopping taking photos and they just leaved the place. Shit dude. shit

Probably when he "accidentally" exposed that shit to his mom, he blamed on a friend... me. Dude i am so depressed, he used to be a normal guy i destroyed a entire family. IT WASNT MY FAULT I WOULD NEVER WATCH EVEN "NORMAL" ANIME WITHOUT HEADPHONES.

I think a lot of a families hold on to stuff that virtually doesn't matter whatsoever nowadays (own family likes to exclude us out of everything because of stuff that happened over 10 years ago??). When did this happen? 4 years ago? Don't stay mad at someone because your son was watching an R-rated anime about half a decade ago. It was that person's choice to watch High School DxD. Just maybe, when your friend gives you an anime like DxD, and you choose to watch it, do not invite your little brother to watch it on TV at full volume.
From my own experience (this could be a poor assumption), I think that many people take anime *too* seriously for some reason.

It only makes me feel ashamed, watching anime that is, in so far as when it forces me to remember and reflect upon myself that some of my friends have made significant progress and moved forward in their lives whereas here I am still stuck in stagnancy and watch animation in my spare time :(

I am aware, of course, that it is all actually stemmed from my own incompetency.
