Definitly curious about this. Its by the same mangaka who wrote Ushio to Tora and it was a nice watch. It has 43 volumes tho, i wonder if they will adapt everything and go with all the episodes it needs or its going to get fucked like the Houshin Engi remake.

It's pretty long, there's no way it's gonna be a complete adaptation.

Reading on /a/ it seems it would need 75 to 100 episodes for a full adaptation

The music here is just... wow, it suits the manga so freaking well. Good to see Voln as the studio that'll adapt this and the Twin Engine thing behind it too. Can't wait, I'm getting pretty hyped up.

Well they need to either make a second season afterwards or cut out some unimportant things like they did with Ushio to Tora. Please let it be good, I don't want another Hoshin Engi incident.

I REALLY hope those 36 episodes are only a first season, because I don't know how the fuck they could fit the story of the manga until the end in just 36 episodes without butchering it a lot.

It's kinda sad we have so few long (50+ episodes) anime these days, so a project like this gets its limitations.

Art style looks pretty great, even better than Ushio to Tora. Shading and coloring reminds me a lot of OVAs from the 90's.

Same mangaka as Ushio to Tora, same director as Hajime no Ippo, Trigun and (again) Ushio to Tora.
I'm hyped

^PV looks really fantastic, there is bit cgi which looks alright. Finally an quality shounen with womanly lead :o Pacing worries me since manga is quite detailed (flashbacks and tons of dialogue) but the stuff is solid (who worked on: HnI, hxh, u&t) so more or less can give me hype. The character designs alone give me hxh vibes from this show.

3 cours at bat, seems like they want to adapt all of it... I think it won't be enough.

It definitely will have problems in the pacing if they skip the most arcs and adapt it to the end.
Well, Ushio to Tora had the same amount of episodes and they did the same, but U&T felt a bit to short...even the last arc was amazing^^

I hope this is just the first Season and there’ll be another sequel season airing for a cour or two to finish the whole series and actually give it justice to the manga!

This series has surprised me quite a bit. It really takes me back to an era of anime long elapsed and has kept my utmost interest.
The moment I have watched it, I felt it was reminiscent of Ushio no Tora and I am glad my feelings were correct. I look forward to seeing this series through to the end.

Totally agree.

There're 2 moments of this manga that made me think it surpasses any shonen I've ever read cuz seriously I almost never see shonen manga did that .

One is at the end of desert arc, another is somewhere at Vol 25.
In order for both scenes to work, a long build up is necessary, otherwise the emotional impact would be much smaller.
Vol 12 comes very close too, a solid 3rd place.

All I can say is I feel like anti-hero style of story-telling is much more interesting than tradition hero style of story-telling. (Which is like 90% of shonen I read)

Oh, that’s cool, I’d love to see those with an appropriate buildup.
Also, your last point about the anti-hero style sounds really interesting!
