Kokoro's book is going to lead to sex between pairs for sure. This entire series has been a metaphor for sex, might as well do it for real.

Nice refreshing episode. Zorome-bro is bro.

Well... decent episode (plotwise) we could see thry are completely imcompetent when it comes to love (not their fault tho), zero two being posesive (once again, not surprised) hiro being... hiro, nice info about those two, dr franxx being useful, kokoro learning about sex. Am i missing something?

The obligatory beach episode, but it fleshed out the characters more. They visited an abandoned city where people used to live at. One of the buildings in that place was used to model their dorm after. Everyone had a nice time.

It doesn't make sense the guardians of the plantation being outside like that. There is no possibility of kyoryuu sudden attacks? I doubt they could run in time to get the Franxx.

If the plantation itself is fishy, why doesn't it have supervision from other people? They are able to explore and read books free from other peoples watch. It can be a plot hole in the making here. Some exploration made of necessity would make more sense.

There were several ways to make fanservice, but not a beach popping out of nowhere. Wasted scenario for something more dark to develop.

At least the death flag is now raised on Ichigo. Good riddance.

Damn I don’t know who to ship... At first I was like all by zero two’s side but ichigo in the last three episodes is changing my mind... I really hope it doesn’t go in the Kiznaiver/ef a tale of memories where the childhood friend ends up with someone else putting Ichigo with Goro (i’m pretty sure it’ll go in this way) but at the same time I’m on zero two’s side too... I don’t know

After such a hard fought battle its only right that the squad is given time to chill. Nice that he's now officially a parasite though. The rulers continue to be enigma's with their plans though. The kiss discussion sure was hillarious. The ghost town served as a great reminder of how much humanity has lost though. The discussion about the surface though was pretty interesting though. Its nice to see the squad accept Hiro and Zero as one of their own though. The star talk between Hiro and Ichigo was cute though. Quite the relaxing episode but also one that introduced some interesting discussions about the past. The new ending theme was a fun song though.

Jesus, a beach episode I actually liked. Animation was stellar in this one, which I thought was funny because other episodes don't compare despite being more action-filled.

Was expecting some "this is Deneb, Altair, Vega" shit while Ichigo and Hiro were looking at the stars. Way too cute.

Interlude with the obligatory beach episode, but even with the clichè they show us a piece of the previous human civilization. Love triangle grow strong. Zero Two is gargeous even with a one piece bathing suit. :D
The weakest episode so far but is ok, better than a recap.

That was a fine episode, in more ways that one of course. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Can't believe some people are actually complaining about this, this episode was really fun to watch with so many subtle hints and developments.

I loved the part where the guys were admiring the view, that was hilarious. Especially when Goro joined Zorome and Futoshi and both of them were like, I see, you're a man of culture as well. XDD

All the girls looked fabulous, special mentions for 002 and Kokkoro.

Dr.FranxXx with the warning to Hiro about 002. :o

It was funny when the guys were all curious about what a kiss was.

Interesting, the kids wandered into the remnants of humanity. This poses a lot of interesting questions about the setting and what was the trigger that forced mankind to now live in plantations. Zorome talking about magma energy seems to hint that humanity's use possibly misuse of magma energy might have triggered the awakening of the klaxosaurs or something even worse.
I also find it intriguing that the dome in their plantation is modeled after the ruins the kids found, definitely bodes the questions if this little relaxation time was actually one.

Kokkoro picking up the book about babies might lead to some developments. Lot of hints towards a Goro developing romantic feelings towards Ichigo.
The night walk under the stars at the beach between Hiro and Ichigo was great. I did facepalm a little when Hiro interrupted Ichigo when she was talking but I guess it's fine because it was for the shooting stars.

My only complaint for the entire series so far is that it's done nothing to make Hiro more likable to me, he's just far too much like a bland LN Harem protagonist.

Good epísode after all. They made a fanservice beach episode to explore the main cast dinamycs and to make great wordlbuild there, and explained us the political structure: the adults make decisions, the youngs fight for them and want to be adults. I see metaphors for comming at age, but this needs to be better explored. Also, it's confirmed they live in a post apocaliptic Japan and the cause to this is the exploration of magma. To end, Kokoro found a book about sex, things can get interestanting after that...

Funny that you say this. The episodes produced by A-1 with their guest appearances tend to be a lot more polished and exceed in the character acting department. This week seems to be Eromanga Sensei's star animator at work and of course Tanaka's correction are ever so present, he really keeps everything nice looking. Trigger episodes while being visibly rough have small moment in which everything just visually skyrockets. It just sucks that they do not seem to bring their A-game so far.

I'm glad this wasn't just a fanservice beach episode. The world building stuff was sort of interesting but sort of unsurprising. It feels like we're always 2 twists ahead of the characters, which is sort of the point with this coming-of-age sci-fi thing they're going for. If they're going for anything at all... honestly I'm still not sure what this show is going for because there's not really enough evidence to support any interpretation. Maybe this is all just set-up for a different turn it will take later on. That's probably wishful thinking ;-;

Goro gained my respect this episode, I was starting to get a bit worried about him. I do feel like some characters were kind of different, Mitsuru showed no signs of salt about the MC + 02 or signs of his sickness, Mitsuru and his partner seem to have gone back to square 1 with antagonism between each other despite seeming to have connected a bit in prior episodes(in fact she seemed meaner towards him than she ever has been, and usually he was the jerk and she trying to make things better). Maybe it's different writers or something.

Notes as I'm watching the episode:

Overall, there are way too many flags being raised here to be counted. However, we now have the clear lines of the plot, now that the world has been fleshed out a little. This was a good episode, much more so than the one previously, because we got the details about the world that the previous episodes were missing; we can see the scale of the threat that the Klaxosaurs posed, and we begin to see the outlines of the narrative that the cult of Papa has used to justify itself, including the major hints that all is decidedly not as it seems. We also get Ichigo's "confession" at the end of the episode, effectively raising her death flag for all to see...

1. At 05:16, the scale between the plantation and the characters is completely off. No way they could fit a city inside that thing, much less fit the characters inside their homes.

2. 5:45-7:00: the degree to which the men are aware of their female partners sexually is actually a bit of a problem where the writing is concerned. For people who apparently don't even know what a kiss is, they're certainly aware sexually and (in the case of the girls) romantically. This becomes even more strained in credulity when the boys start interrogating Hiro at 10:30 through 11:17.

3. At 7:15, well if that isn't a death/tragedy flag...

4. At 7:45, whoa there, that's pretty sensual

5. Zero-Two's declaration about what a kiss is at 08:00 is pretty interesting. She claims that it's a declaration that "someone belongs to you" and "should only be done with someone you love." Well, she got the first part right, but the first part is obviously skewed through the lens of her own needs and desires, since a kiss is a display of affection rather than possession.

6. At 14:42. There's something much more profound going on here. The city (obviously Japanese) is mostly intact, so much so that there are still posters on the walls for the last product placement. Which begs the question: what happened to make people abandon the city like that? People don't abandon livable areas like that unless some sort of significant disaster occurs, like Chernobyl or Fukushima Daiichi. I can only imagine what would require such a cultural shift as to move from modern cosmopolitan to a quasi-cult where even the basics of romantic love have been forgotten.

7. 18:01 and here we have the seeds of doubt. What Mitsuru is saying is obviously the [i[Big Lie(TM)[/i] that's been peddled to them. Somehow, the Klaxosaurs are being created to enforce the cult, which is fueled by magma energy, not the other way around...the cast will undoubtedly find this out in due time.

8. 19:01. Naomi gets mentioned again. Her death (she can't be anything else at this point) will be pivotal in all this. The children discovering that she's dead and that she was somehow "reused" will be pivotal in them turning against the cult that they're presently supporting.

9. Ichigo's death flag has officially been raised.

Got the same feeling, tho for some reason I have a feeling an NTR is gonna occur and I dont mean Hiro and Ichigo, more like Kokoro and Mitsuru, for some reason they're giving out a vibe that they'll do something with each other ever since their scene when Kokoro talked to Mitsuru and now after Mitsuru saved her.

Both Ichigo and Hiro's tragedy and death flags have been raised this episode. Furthermore, we have the setup for the broad outline of the plot, including who's going to go into what camp. It's fairly obvious that the nines will serve as the primary antagonists of the show, seeing as they are tasked with the upholding of the plantations' ruling cult.

Zorome, Miku, Ikuno, and Mitsuru will ultimately fall in with the cult for opposite reasons, while Hiro, Ichigo, and Zero-Two will ultimately end up opposing it. Everyone else will fall somewhere in the middle. The catalysts for this will undoubtedly be the search for information that Kokoro's book will inspire, along with the team learning of Naomi's real fate.

This beach episode totally came out of left field, but we did get a lot of new world-building info that ended up making this episode more integral than just any "filler fan-service" episode. We also got a lot of meaningful interactions between Ichigo, Hiro, and Zero Two, as well as a little bit more screen-time for all the other parasites.

Ichigo also cemented as best girl of the show for me. Zero Two gotta step her game up.

Overall, it was an ok episode with surprisingly good art. I still wish the story would give us some answers for a change rather than continually throwing more questions and exposition at us. The show really needs to draw itself in and focus on one thing at a time.

I wouldn't say it was superior or inferior compared to the previous episodes based on what it pursues. Episode 1-6 labeled as "Part 1" worked towards establishing the Jian motif and have our main duo a close enough bond that allows them to stick around each other. Since Zero Two is the factor from outside who will most likely open this bird cage and set them free. Now that this was established they could start diving into the background and mysteries starting this Episode, it's "Part 2" according to the executive producer. So I wouldn't say this episode was far better than the previous simply because it tackled some world building and mysteries that the previous ones lacked but that was due to them having a different focus alltogether.

2. 5:45-7:00: the degree to which the men are aware of their female partners sexually is actually a bit of a problem where the writing is concerned. For people who apparently don't even know what a kiss is, they're certainly aware sexually and (in the case of the girls) romantically. I don't see it as a problem in terms of writing at all. They've been raised in complete unawareness to any kind of physical or emotional intimacy which is expressed to how they do not even know what a kiss or what love is. This though does not stop their natural instincts to kick in. They can find the opposite gender attractive but not know what to do with it, it's what nature gave us all. We should also remember that they're growing up without any media influencing their sexual or emotional orientation. We can watch a film or a read a book and see multiple instances of physical contact and love being displayed, they did not have that. I think the creators actually pointed at that because Ichigo & Kokkoro both stumbled upon media that would have taught them this stuff. Heck, they're so isolated they can't even learn this stuff through interacting with other people. We might see people kiss in public or we might hear from others about this & that, they can't draw from these sources of information...well except Hiro but even that only to a minor degree since he doesn't really know much himself.[/quote]

I find your other comment about Naomi extremely interesting. Ichigo said that she was sent to a hospital but then again that's what the Adults told her...so this could mean literally anything. Given how Naomi appeared in this "limbo scene" of Hiro who was on the verge of dying I think implications point towards her being actually dead.

Personally I think that the book that Kokkoro picked up might be the first step towards the kids questioning their environment and the Adults.
