~BEST SUPPORTING CHARACTER~

Overlooked by some, the supporting cast can often be what sets apart a good overall cast from a great one. Well written and enjoyable supporting characters highlight elements of the main cast and story that those main characters simply can't do on their own. And that's where these lovely candidates shined the brightest!

1. Nanachi (Made in Abyss)(126 Points)

2. Harunobu Nikaidou (Sangatsu no Lion) (104 Points)

3. Diamond (Houseki no Kuni) (64 Points)

Honorable Mentions
4th Umiko Ahagon (New Game!!)(59 points)
5th Tsuyu Asui (Boku no Hero Academia S2)(56 points)

~BEST SEQUEL~

When one season is not enough to cover all the storylines, build a world or let all the characters develope, we hope and pray to the Anime Gods that the studios are gracious enough to give us watchers a continuation. Sometimes our prayers are unheard, sometimes new seasons don't turn out the way we want them to, but in some cases those 2nd seasons are everything we wanted them to be. Here are the 5 shows of 2017 that turned out to be that.

1. Kono Subarashii Sekai ni Shukufuku wo! 2 (92 Points)

2. Shouwa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu: Sukeroku Futatabi-hen
(87 Points)

3. Sangatsu no Lion S2 (86 Points)

Honorable Mentions
5th. Boku no Hero Academia S2 (74 Points)
6th. Owarimonogatari S2 (59 Points)

~BEST STUDIO~

If we're here to celebrate the best of the best in anime in 2017, it would be a shame for us to ignore the studios which brought us all these anime we came to love. Or maybe not love in some cases... but either way, without the efforts of the people working at these studios and producing the anime, we would not all be together here today.

1. Shaft (Sangatsu no Lion, Kizumonogatari 3, Owarimonogatari S2) (104 Points)

2. Bones (Kekkai Sensen: Beyond, Boku no Hero Academia S2)(81 Points)

3. Studio DEEN (Rakugo S2, KonoSuba S2, Hoozuki no Reitetsu S2) (76 Points)

Honorable Mentions
4th. Wit Studios (Mahoutsuki no Yome, Attack on Titan S2) (56 Points)

~BEST SOUNDTRACK~

Most shows would not work without sound. Yet we never notice the songs and the music pieces that play during most shows runtimes. This new category is dedicated to the music and it's artists that created these beautiful OSTs to make special moments in our favorite shows feel even more special or to set the mood for a certain atmosphere. So without further ado here are the Top 5 Soundtracks of the Season.

1. Shoujo Shuumatsu Ryokou by Kenichiro Suehiro(87 Points)

2. Made in Abyss by Kevin Penkin (82 Points)

3. Princess Principal by Yuki Kajiura (59 Points)

Honorable Mentions
4th. Shingeki no Kyoujin S2 by Hiroyuki Sawano (54 Points)

5th. Boku no Hero Academia S2 by Yuuki Hayashi (53 Points)

~BEST ORIGINAL~

Sometimes an anime is based on a Light Novel. Often it is based on a manga. A few times it is based on a Web Novel or even a Game. Yet the idea and the script for some Anime are only made up shortly before the show aires. Those Anime we call "Original". To honor the effort of putting a show together from scratch we introduced this year this new category. So for the first time here are the Winners of Best Original Show 2017.

1. Re: Creators (105 Points)

2. Little Witch Academia (100 Points)

3. Tsuki ga Kirei (90 Points)

Honorable Mentions
4th. Princess Principal (77 Points)
5th. Sakura Quest (38 Points)

~BEST WORLD BUILDING~

Every show needs a setting, a world where the story plays out. In this category we look at those different worlds, that we encountered in 2017. Be it a mafia world in a prohibition era, a dark fantasy world with despair creeping around every corner or a colorful dreamland
where every episodes leads us into a different kind of world. We saw all those worlds in 2016 and decided that those are the most creative or interesting worlds we have seen.

1. Made in Abyss (133 Points)

2. Shoujo Shuumatsu Ryokou (80 Points)

3. Houseki no Kuni (64 Points)

Honorable Mentions
4th. Mahoutsukai no Yome (41 Points)

~SO BAD IT'S GOOD~

There are two different types of bad when it comes to anime. On one side there are the shows that are bad, because they are boring and then on the otherside there are the shows that are so hilariously bad, that you can't do anything than laugh at them and have a good time. For this category we look at the second kind the shows that are so bad that they are good.

1. Ousama Game: The Animation (97 Points)

2. Isekai wa Smartphone to Tomo ni (71 Points)

3. Vatican Kiseki Chousakan
(64 Points)

Dishonorable Mentions
4th. Netsuzou TRap (42 Points)
5th. Hand Shakers (39 Points)

~BEST ART & ANIMATION~

We all know those shows that try to make use of crappy CGI, have boring backrounds or have low detailed backround characters. The shows where an epic fight scene is adapted as a stickfigure fight. The follwing shows did not do any of that. Instead they have the best animations in 2017.

1. Houseki no Kuni (97 Points)

2. Sangatsu no Lion (85 Points)

3. Made in Abyss (72 Points)

Honorable Mentions
4th. Kobayashi-san Chi no Maid Dragon (65 Points)
4th. Boku no Hero Academia S2 (65 Points)

~BEST MALE CHARACTER~

From having great comedic deliveries to believable and relatable drama, it's a main character's job to help the viewers become engrossed in the story an anime sets up. And while not every main character is created equal, it's always good to take a moment and appreciate the ones that really stand out.

1. Kiriyama Rei (Sangatsu no Lion S2) (103 Points)

2. Kazuma Satou (KonoSuba S2)(102 Points)

3. Jean Otus (ACCA) (60 Points)

Honorable Mentions
4th. Yukihira (Shokugeki no Souma S3) (57 points)
5th. Regu (Made in Abyss)(45 points)
6th. Shouto (Boku no Hero Academia S2) (42 points)

~BEST FEMALE CHARACTER~

Whether they touch our hearts emotionally or simply kick ass, a main female's role is just as important as a main male's. A solid lead cast is often what helps drive an anime forward and keep things alive and fresh, so let's make sure to share some love for the strong female ones as well.

1. Megumin (KonoSuba S2) (107 Points)

2. Morioka Moriko (Net-juu no Susume) (88 Points)

3. Phosphophyllite (Houseki no Kuni)(71 Points)

Honorable Mentions

Nanachi is a deserved win. She was my first choice.

For best sequel I voted for Rakugo but I guess it's pretty predictable Konosuba 2 would win that one...

Bit sad that Nikaidou didn't get first place (especially after that last episode), but I guess no one can really pretend to be surprised by that.

On the other hand, the sequels couldn't possibly make me happier, lol. Granted, it's a different order from what I perceived it in, but the top-3 are nonetheless exactly the sequels I loved the most =w=. Not to mention that any sequel-list in which Shouwa Genroku, which 5 people watched, beats out goddamn BnHA is already a more than acceptable list right then and there =w=

studio is whatever. My preference would be Doga Kobo but Shaft is good I guess. I don't watch any Monogatari stuff but the 2 cours of 3-gatsu that aired in 2017 looked great and I'd definitely choose Shaft over Bones or Deen so that result is pretty ok.

soundtrack was the category I had the hardest time voting for. I like all of the top 3 but I gave my top spot to Girl's Last Tour so I'm glad that ended up winning.

Best Worldbuilding: predictable that MiA would win. I voted Girl's Last Tour.

SO BAD IT'S GOOD: never really understood this category. is it supposed to be something we thought was good or something we thought was bad? I didn't watch Ousama game and I'm not particularly fond of Smartphone. I voted NTRap cuz I thought it was actually a good show. Don't know how to react to this one. I know Ousama Game is kinda like a meme to some people but I just didn't even watch it and furthermore I don't even understand if winning this award is a good thing or a bad thing.

BEST ART & ANIMATION: I voted MiA and 3-gatsu. Didn't watch Houseki no Kuni so I have no idea if the art and animation is good but I'll take ur guys word for it I guess.

BEST FEMALE CHARACTER: Akko finishes last and popular meme character wins. Great job guys. I mean you guys made the right decision back in the Winter 2017 CotS poll to not vote for Megumin why did ya'll change your minds now?

BEST MALE CHARACTER: predictable outcome I'm ok with this I guess. Don't really love any of these characters too much my vote was for Regu.

My favourites from 2017 were mostly Rakugo, Sangatsu, LWA, ACCA, BnHA.... and they appear in many of the categories... so I'm happy :)

Honestly, I'm really satisfied with how the finale came out and we all called it that Made in Abyss will be the anime of the year... but what I find it totally unaccepted is that how is it Oussama Game won the "So Bad It's Good' when Isekai wa Smartphone to Tomo ni was way better than that!
Don't get me wrong the original material of OG is pretty good but the adaptation was really horrible! (in the end, it's just my opinion)

That award is pretty unintuitive but I think it's because Ousama Game could still be enjoyed better in a sort of ironic way
