Why Diclonius are all female

There seems to be some confusion by people on why all the Diclonius shown are female, people seem to think that there is something inherent about the species that makes them all or mostly female, and this is not true. The reason why all the ones we see are female and is because they are all "worker bee" clones of Lucy, call Silpelits.

Lucy and her half-brother are the only "true" Diclonius in the entire series and the only ones who age normally and are capable of sexually reproduction to create other "true" Diclonius. Diclonius that are produced sexually and "naturally" are 50/50 male or female, like any other human.

My guess is that their mother is the only person to receive this mutation and can pass it to her offspring (Lucy and her half-brother) at the genetic level. The infertile Silpelits that are produced by being "infected" by a true Diclonius are likely not produced at the same genetic level. If true Diclonius are vampires than the Silpelits would be like their ghouls servants, I suppose.
