| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- Meh, this episode felt like it was a bit all over the place. The usual shogi matches but also Ai trying to help Yaichi get into better shape. I mean, using feet on his back?! The bath scenes with Ginko and AI was super awkward. Not much Yashajin this week although I do expect her to make a return soon. Yaichi still has a lot to improve although I have to admit that his opponent was also quite skilled. |

| Welps, Yaichi having bits and pieces of trouble around: - With his opponent as he learns new strategies from old friends...and with that, the strongest Master upon his opponent's shoulders...the eventual match(es) for the title of Ryuo. - Having to manage the other girls (concerned for Keika as she needs to clear before reaching 27.) And OMG are the bath scenes occurring WAY TOO MUCH for fanservice...when you involve lolis... Overall, just a decent episode but serves as an intermission in-between, and hoping Yaichi can make a comeback. None of Yashajin this episode but hopefully her appearance comes back soon. |

| Oh come on, this isn't the first show to show lolis having a cute time in the bath tub. It was completely wholesome, too. Actually liked the researcher character, it's good to see that shogi is more than a war on a wooden board, a battle of personality/research/wits is involved. That's a more subtle angle to these games that doesn't get enough exposure. Also that bath house attendant is just 10/10 cute. |

| I would like to see more development and exploration of Char, Ayano, and Mio before or after Yaichi figures out a strategy to beat his current opponent. I had a hard time empathizing with Mio when little of her backstory and character has been explored. I am guessing that Mio, Char, and Ayano play a contributive role to Ai Hinatsuru for the main disciple to improve in shogi mentoring, considering how little the three friends take action. But that'd be disappointing. I wonder how the second half will showcase and solve all conflicts with Ai, Ginko, Yaichi, and Keika in a progressive, natural way. The conflicts have been shown in Episode 6 can make the story fall apart if all are addressed improperly. I have hope though. This is probably the first episode in the anime that makes me worry about how the story will continue. At the least, the loli shenanigans and shogi matches remain very entertaining, but how will it all pay off? This gif gives me life. |

| Yaichi is having a hard time against his opponent, even after doing some research. He's quite skilled. Lots of awkward moments in this episode. The research guy is very good at shogi and at playing the piano. |

| Yachi's opponent sure was interesting. Keika sure has a lot of stress though as she only has one year left. Ai's comment of Yaichi having too many female friends though was hillarious. Having a shogi dojo above a bathhouse sure was a interesting idea. Yachi and Ai's determination to improve their skills was admirable. The kids foot massage though sure looked relaxing until Ginko arrived. Considering Ai's nature upsetting a friend will be hard on her. Yaichi sure is struggling in his match though but an interesting episode as always. |

| It was weaker than the previous episode but still enjoyable, I dig the character designs of this series, especially the design of the shark toothed lady and the purple eyed girl that was with her, Asuka is really cute too, wish she was Yaichi's main love interest. |

| It's nice to see the show shifting perspective back to Yaichi. It shows that despite being a teacher and decorated champion, he still has hurdles that he needs to overcome. A loli massage would be the best, especially a multi loli massage. Loved that jazzy/classy looking place on the second floor of the onsen. Asuka is super cute, and super thicc. Not a big fan of the bangs in front of eyes design, but she was cute nonetheless. So it seems this guy mostly just gets into the heads of his opponents, can't say it's a bad strategy, but his way of doing it is pretty scummy. |
| Better than the naked time, better than Yaichi's troubles and desire to improve, the one thing that really mattered to me in this episode was Ai studying alongside him to become an all-rounder, which is a great improvement for someone who previously was rather weak at the basics of the game, no matter how strong her endgame was. The other Ai better look out, she's getting much stronger now. |

| Wow, what a perfect episode to summarize everything that's wrong with this show. Low and behold, everyone! Ryou no Oshigoto has officially taken a step backwards without anything moving forward, and I hope this episode made that clear to those who so vehemently defended this series until now. I'm not going to waste too much of my time on this episode, so I'll make it brief. This episode was utterly meaningless and wasted our time with downright cliche moments that didn't even flow properly. The composition, despite all of the crazy things the camera did this episode, was the most flat of the entire series. I don't really know what this anime is trying to be now. Is it about the Ryou working his way up to becoming a Meijin? Is it about competition? Is it about the Ryou tutoring Ai? Is it about the loli fanservice? Is it about the harem that's being formed by all of the female characters? Is it a comedy? Is it trying to be serious? I know its not trying to be about shogi, that's for sure. It's hard to believe these people are playing chess, instead of barebones rip-off of Yu-Gi-Oh. Am I the only one who sees the similarities? It's like Yaichi was trying to win with the heart of the [cards], and that gay guy (don't care enough about him to remember his name) kept activating his [trap card]. Also, though I am not the type to point this stuff out on most occasions, I have to ask why the author already made two opponents for the main characters implicitly gay or transgendered? It's not inherently a bad thing, but it is when it adds literally nothing to the story other than a gimmick to get the audience to remember the character exists. I'm not saying this as some radical liberal that preaches gender equality or anything, but it does bug me that the author is using this gimmick in the first place- it shows that the author had no respect to properly portray LGBTQ people as actual characters, and it shows that the author was lazy when writing these characters. And all of his characters for that matter. 2/5 Better luck next time? |

| Another thing I like about this show is Yaichi not invincible, some of you might think if he have the Ryuuou title then no one can can defeat him which isn't true. This happen in real life sport too right? Being champion doesn't mean you will always win, if you stop improving yourself then your opponent will leave you in dust. |

| I would assume a Ginko x Yaichi development couple episodes will be arriving sooner then later. I felt like it's been hinted thanks to the last two episodes. I thought it was pretty funny when she stepped on his head and the girls scattered lol. I'm surprised they didn't make him see up her skirt. I figured that part was coming eventually but nope. Overall a decent episode. Ai learned that Victory is not always sweet. Feels bad for Keika though. |

| I forgot to mention in my previous post, but how come the scene with the bath looks like almost a complete rip off of a similar scene from The Pet Girl of Sakurasou? Think about it, there's some gay-ish tension on the male side- there's a lot of fanservice on the female's side (even with conversation). There's a loli, a character that doesn't like to make many expressions and a tsundere (albeit the same person as the expressionless one in Oshigoto) who throws over something at the MC because he imagined her body or something. The only difference is that The Pet Girl of Sakurasou DOESN'T SUCK! |

The character of Natagiri disgusts me, but it can be an interesting character regarding the game of Shogi, too bad that Keika is with his back to the wall, I'm so sorry. |
