The way she describes the contents and reality of the sword sounds kinda legit, at least from her perspective. What a chapter.

Ok. Few things. I'm kinda surprised that the transition from talking in some basement in some random village to the landing on that mysterious island took only 1 chapter. And I'm not surprised in a bad way, on a contrary, I'm quite happy, because after the female samurai told that first we have to travel to Edo, I thought "well, we'll get ~4-5 chapters of traveling and various unexpected events, then the sailing will also take a couple of chapter, so we'll have to wait for some time until we'll see the island". But mangaka decided to get down to business. That's a thumbs up in my book.
Another thing that I got from this chapter is that even though it's too early to make predictions about the end of this manga, but I'm getting vibes that in the end MC will either end up with the samurai chick or he'll have some tragic ending, like he'll be beheaded by her for real. Overall, I'm just not too optimistic that the MC will be able to have a happy ending, which, currently is supposed to be 'him and waifu living a normal life together'.

It might still take a few more chapters to decide if I will continue this weekly but damn it has got me hooked.
Besides I think it might take a tragedy route because it doesn't look like a regular battle shonen just yet.
I read Bozebeats a few days ago and this has me hyped more than Bozebeats for sure.

Manga like this often has serious tragedy events or ends in very tragic way which I hope not to happen. This chapter had nice pacing and good actions(a mere glimpse of how much bloodbath this manga is going to have in future). Also loved that back story of Lady Asaemon and the way Gabimaru made her realize what she was lacking actually.
So far, it's good and I'm totally hooked with it.

Can this get any better?
10/10

Feels like it will be a short ride, something like Hanazamurai. Hopefully this is not the case.
Is this manga weekly or monthly?

Apparently, it's a weekly manga. From next chapter, it's going to be 19 pages long per chapter and next chapter is supposed to come out tomorrow. That's according to someone from Fallen Angels scans, I could throw in a link to a reddit post for clarification, though, I'm not sure if I'm allowed to post links to reddit. Am I?

And yes, I also get the feeling like it's going to be short, I'd guess at most 100 chapters. Pretty sure that time on the island itself will make up for about 90% of the whole plot and the remaining 10% will be conclusion about MC and his wife's fate.

This manga has a great premise.

A murderd who doesn't want to murder unless he has to. And the Deuteragonist why kills people but is conflicted by the burden. I feel that the island exploration is secondary, and the character personality exploration is the main point.

Also the other criminals are pretty interesting too.

Straight up 10.

I'm glad they skipped the whole journey of getting there.

The idea of a sword reflecting reality is very interesting.

Man... what a great chapter. Shit's metal AF. Loved the killing style and the dark art style that the author has. Great going...

Gabimaru said it best when its kill or be killed its time to kill but its ok to not kill when face with that choice too and if youre gonna kill better accept the burden of guilt from killing

Another great chapter! It seems like the whole chapter is one scene, but how does it hold and not let go. Something is constantly happening, new details, nuances are revealed, new heroes appear. The task to be completed becomes more and more difficult.
