| The amount of references in this episode, holy shit: - Initial D - Dick Dastardly and Muttley from "Wacky Racers" (I'm pretty sure that's what that scene with the dog in the race was supposed to be referencing) - Kronk's new groove (The song "Let's Pop Together" they sing is suspiciously similar to the song "Let's Groove" from Kronk's New Groove, I loved that movie as a kid so I instantly picked up on it) - The phone call with Mary could partly be seen as a reference to "Toshi Densetsu - episode 4", I think the Mary thing was an urban legend before that though (I feel like a fucking degenerate for getting that reference) I find it hilarious and baffling that Japanese people have ever even hear of "Wacky Racers" or "Kronk's New Groove". I'm pretty certain these are correct, if not then I'll gladly welcome correction. |

| The save point reference is commonly in every game. The next stage is must face off the boss "Why gtr like me is defeated". Lol "Lets pop together" song is much perfectly with male va. As always, bob team epic is always shitty and creppy. Is Hoshiiro drop preview related to pop team epic next episode? I still wonder And for Pop team epic 8 bit..... many things i didnt understand |

Holy shit, that's a Dastardly and Muttley reference!  I was about to drop this series cause honestly, I don't find it funny at all.. but I NEVER expected an anime to reference this series. At first I thought "no way that can't be them.. right?" but then I saw the explosion with the exact same look and sound effect as in the cartoon hahaha, gold. Now I have to continue watching in case I'm missing references like this, damnit. |
