| In term of reality, we replaced/abandoned old thing because we have found something better and newer but how is that not so in anime/manga? Beside non-living thing, anime/manga also describe old living people as stronger or even legend. An obvious example would be Naruto. Just wonder why? |

| Those are mostly not thigs that were left behind in favor of something better, rather they were master craftsmanship and limited in quantity and got hidden or forgotten or just special people could use them, or the ancient advanced culture which made them got wiped out by some kind of calamity. |
