Calm down casual fans , OPM fans and OPMTards. I dont hate OPM but there are some things I worries about OPM season 2
How are they gonna live up to the first season?
I used to hate OPM before due to the hero being super OP (one punch is literally all it take) sound pretty boring and the hero is a gag hero .The only reason I got hooked up with OPM is the utterly sheered of hype by the first season with Saitama vs Boros was one of the most epic fight ever. But now second season is coming and my exception is 50:50. I read the manga after the first season and for me is very bad but not terrible but no as good as the manga chapters that cover the first season. If OPM failed , expect peoples will compare S2 with S1 and said that S1 was the best while S2 suck and dropped the anime and add the bandwagon of hate soon.
Changes in studios
I was shock to hear that Madhouse was gonna do a second season with their history of "LITERALLY NO SEASON AT ALL" . While wishing for another season of other MadHouse anime , the news hit me that J.C. Staff is taking over the task for making the anime . Even the Director and sound director also changed. Can the new studios handle with care or are they gonna add more fillers and destroy the anime?
Overhype
I know that we always hype for a new season of anime without watching it first . "Another season of Gintama "scream the fans.
"Another season of Food Wars"scream the fans
"Another season of -gatari" scream the fans.
But overhyping an anime too much before it air can lead to consequences .For example, before Black Clover was having an anime, I read the manga and found that it has a slow start but later the pacing was fast. I knew that ,given the type of anime fans these days ,overhyping this anime will lead to backlash but then Crunchyroll started promoting " THE KING OF SHONEN" for Black Clover which for me is a very dumb move. Many hate the first suppose hype episode. Fans will said that OPM is not like BC but the same thing could happen to OPM since OPM fans kept spamming S2 all over the internet.Casual fans may see Saitama as this overhype guy and will see him as just a boring, pathetic, terrible, awful, pitiful hero with OP power.Eventually they will just dropped the anime and declared it an overrated anime
i think the second part is way better than the first one, and the first was already fantastic.
The other heroes get a lot of highlight, there are plenty of good fights and Garou is an awesome character in my opinion, the manga is getting better and better so if anyone is worried about the anime just read the manga instead.
People who watch/read OPM needs to understand that its main focus in not the comedy let alone the parody part, if they are watching with this in mind they will surelly be bored.
the new studio needs to put effort in the ost and animation and they probably will given the hype and success of the fisrt season
The biggest problem is the fact that OPM's biggest appeal is it's execution. It's a parody and subversion of many cliches and tropes, having an OP character and make his fights still engaging is something that requires knowledge of how to do so and experience. I don't know whether the director has knowledge, but I absolutely know he doesn't have the experience.
I have very low expectations of the second OPM season. I will still watch it, and while I doubt it'll be as good as the first I can still see it being somewhat decent or even good on it's own, but I still can't help but be annoyed by JC Staff deciding to completely pick the wrong person for the job. I mean, they handed a VERY loved series off to a director whose only anime under his belt is some ecchi show with moe characters and a very lackluster premise.
So basically it's not really the future director's fault, it's whoever decided to give him OPM. It's insanely doubtful he'll be able to pull this off without the proper experience, not only potentially ruining the series future adaptation, but even the director's career. If he messes up, he'll be forever known as the man who screwed up OPM.

If the director mess-up , then say hello to score 1s of OPM S2 by me.

Because I read you post with the intention to understand your perspective, I hope you can read mine with that intention as well. I quoted your post and edited it to what I thought were the main points, but am basing my response on your full post. Just wanted to get that out of the way. As for your points, I think they are well thought out and good criticisms, but I believe I have (mostly) good answers to allay your fears for Season 2.
How are they gonna live up to the first season?
You said the hype for Boros vs Saitama was your main draw to the series? Correct me if I am wrong, but I believe I read you also didn’t enjoy the manga chapters post Season 1 as much as the stories in Season 1, correct? I would guess your love for both the earlier story and the Boros fight was due to the comedy and the focus on Saitama. From what I have heard from casual fans to whom I've hinted at OPM's future, it sounds like they would be very intrigued by a serious storyline and actual long term villains (rather than episodic villains).
Yes, you are right that Season 2 will not be as comedic as Season 1. However, I believe that is for the best. Whenever you have a series centred on a comedic action hero, there are two usual routes with them. Either they remain comedy focused and keep making jokes indefinitely, or they are given limits and serious struggles to overcome.
I think you were hoping the series would remain comedy focused. However, there’s a major problem with that. The main joke of OPM, Saitama, gets old when it is overused, but there are not enough comedic elements to fill in the gap for a long term comedy. So if it tried to repeat the formula Season 1 followed, it would get more and more boring as time goes on.
The other alternative which you are afraid of is that it would become a standard action show, that the threats will stack up to Saitama eventually, the world will be in danger, and Saitama will have to struggle to save it. I have read the webcomic, which the manga is still several years behind. I can guarantee that it does not become a normal action show, due to the premise of the series, which shouldn’t surprise you:
Saitama will always be invincible.
Yes, the series for the long term will take a serious bent, but it will inevitably be subverted with that single joke.
That’s the unique beloved quality of OPM, which, in my opinion, makes it superior in action and comedy to any series that has come before and possibly ever will. All the action comedy end up prioritizing the struggle of the hero over ridiculing the overly serious moments. And the comedies which include action will end up undercutting any deep themes and messages the story might have conveyed. OPM alone, at least so far in the webcomic, will follow a very serious plot that forever remains in the shadow of the central joke.
As for the current content that will become Season 2 (we’re already far past the end of the tournament arc for a 12 episodes season), it is only a buildup season. Minor Spoilers
The material for Season 3 will likely be a buildup arc as well, but its finale, while not a great battle like Boros, brings about two devastating twists. And the material for Season 4 (assuming 12 episodes seasons) is more epic than the entire series before it, its finale is more hype than even the Boros fight itself. Not only that, it sets up the pattern that there will be Boros level hype fights as the finale of every saga, and hints that the series finale will be utterly godly and put the whole series to shame.
Changes in studios
Yes, this is a major problem, mainly because of the director and animation. JC Staff, the new studio, does not have a long record of good action titles. Their best hope is to hire freelancers to work on it, as was done with Season 1. I doubt they’ll add filler, simply because OPM is action dependent, and action is their weakness. I’m not worried about the sound director because the old guy had moderate experience, while the new guy did all of Jojo and SAO.
Overhype
My friend, I understand your worry about overhype. But remember, you’re talking about older titles that have an old fanbase, and haven’t made a big splash for a while. Even the new action shows like AOT and MHA are too difficult for western non-anime fans to get into (AOT did at first, but lost its mass appeal). OPM, even in Season 2, doesn’t have that many foreign names or anachronisms in it.
This is a more innacurate measurement, but on MAL, Season 1 is #10 in popularity, and the manga is #9 in popularity. None of the anime you listed were that big, and the only currently overhyped one above it was AOT. Plus, even better for its western appeal, it’s still #27 of the Top 250 TV shows on IMDB, only surpassed by two other anime, Death Note and FMAB. So no, I’m not afraid that casual fans will drop it as another overhyped show, in fact, I expect many new OPM viewers will end up hating Marvel and DC’s portrayal of the superhero genre after watching OPM Season 2 (I know I did after reading the glorious but crappy OPM webcomic).
Again, I’m sorry my post is so, so long. You asked some very good questions, so I tried to answer to the best of my ability.

I don’t think you need to worry about the thematic execution. On the contrary, you might not like what Season 2 does because it loses a lot of comedy and tells serious, long running story. Although I can guarantee it never becomes 100% serious due to Saitama punching away the conflicts.
Because the story becomes more serious and less episodic, it should be easier for the new director to get the feel for. But I agree he better have some mad skillz hidden up his sleeve, otherwise he could ruin his entire career.
first off, you need to work on your english bruv. second, you insult fans by calling them "tards" then proceed to say you don't hate it. thirdly, it's not like jc staff formed yesterday so you, yes you people that worry, calm your tits.

- First yes my English need more work .
- Second , I dont insult all fans by calling them "tards" , the word "tards" is for those set of fans that think their anime is the greatest and over-hyping things ever while cursing other fandom for being inferior. I like OPM but I admit there some flaw but the OPM Tards thinks that it the greatest anime ever and Saitama can beat everyone including Goku and Superman. That is the type of fans I hate the most
- Third , I know JC Staff is not new but some fans like me are afraid that this changes could affect the anime.
1. Madhouse is my favorite animation studio. OPM's animation was nearly perfect. The only negative was that they didn't do the full 360 version of Saitama vs Sonic in the forest. Anyways, I'm not sure what to expect from the new studio. I can almost guarantee the animation won't live up to season 1's, but I can't imagine it will be bad.
2. How far are they going to go with it? After season 1, we're introduced to a new major villain, and during that arc, another arc starts. Neither of those arcs have been resolved yet, but there are a few decent points where things might be able to be resolved.
Perhaps after Garou and Saitama's first encounter, or maybe after the end of the tournament.
It's just a shame that there's no way we'll get the chapter 84
fight in the woods against Garou. Death Gatling and crew vs Garou, followed immediately by Genos vs Garou and then Bang + Bomb vs Garou. One of the best fights in the series.
But whatever happens, my hype level is through the roof. Garou is easily the most interesting character (to me) in the entire series, so I'm excited to see him animated.

Well, Madhouse technically didn't make most of Season 1. Few of the animators were Madhouse staff, many were freelancers who came in, the main thing Madhouse did was organize and give a budget to it (and an average budget at that). So maybe JC Staff can hire freelancers to make it just as well animated as Season 1.
I doubt it will end after the shopping incident, that's less than half the length of Season 1. And adding filler to make a full one cour would straight up poison it.
As for that recent manga fight, let me just say there are half a dozen more fights that beat it that will be coming up in the manga.
Garou's your favorite character? Oh boy... let me just say: you've seen nothing of Garou as yet. All the stuff so far is just a taste of what's to come.

I'm glad to hear it. It seemed like once the MH invasion started, we had seen most of the important stuff with Garou. But lately, it's been hinting at greater things to come, so I'm pumped.
