I'm not exactly picky about what I listen to. I'll pretty much listen to anything, but if I were to narrow down my choice of genre, it'd have to be Rock (J-Rock, K-Rock, any type of rock really.)

Probably tied between melodic deathmetal and doujin ongaku. Also enjoy drum and bass, trance, JRock, classical, deathcore (to an extent), and some alternative/indie rock. I listen to a little bit of everything, but I'm kind of cautiously open minded.

My fav. genre is the "game-music".
The orchestral pieces by Uematsu Nobuo, Tsuyoshi Sekito and the likes.
Can listen to those tracks for hours on end...

..Metal runs a close second.

I don't really have a favourite genre, as I listen to many things from OSTs, VGMs, some rock (bands like linkin park/evanescence), electronic (mostly trance/techno), j-pop, k-pop, pop, some hip-hop, etc. XD <3 Music.

Well I already listed what I like on my profile. I'm really into Indie and Alternative music lately. I also like ambient and atmospheric kinds of stuff. I'm open to listen to different things too. I've been getting more into more electronic music and also have some trance thrown in their for a little flavor hehe. I'm open to listen to new groups and such in those genres. :3

Björk. Yes, I am classifying her as a genre. But other than that I'd say black metal.

I mostly listen to death, progressive, grind, folk, and in secret, black metal. I'm not sure how it started but when I discovered lolicore I didn't know what to think of it as I was a bit surprised such a thing existed. Somehow I kept finding myself listening to it and its now probably my second most played playlist. Of course I listen to anime OSTs like most others here so I guess this isn't worth mentioning in any detail.

Some bands I like would be Nile, Burzum, Argus Megere, Gojira, Corpremesis, and Butterfly temple to name a few of the metal stuff.
For lolicore I like Bloody Vomit Bukkake, loliripe, Laser imouto, and some others. I'll admit its a pretty terrible genre but I just can't stop listening to it. I guess like black metal I'm just drawn to bad music. Thats not to say I can't enjoy technical stuff though. Its really kind of hard to say what I like in metal because I usually change what sub-generes I listen to about once or twice a month, with the exception of stuff like nu-metal or that hardcore stuff.
Once in a while I'll listen to trance or gabber/hardcore. It makes me feel like a party.

I have VERY varied music tastes, but I'll list a couple of the genres I listen to the most :3.

Symphonic/Gothic Metal: Nightwish for example. I love the feeling in this kind of music. It really just sweeps you up in it. As with any sort of epic sounding music I suppose.
Hard Rock: Linkin Park, Three Days Grace ect.
General Pop: Lady Gaga ect. You really can't go wrong with fun catchy music, even if its stupid half the time =P.

I've been getting into Jpop a lot also lately.

I love pretty much everything, switch genres constantly <3 I chose J-music mainly because it pretty much is everything, except in a different language. I like listening to rock and alternative and listen to comedy and death metal for amusement. There's too much pop around me to ignore and electronic is awesome when done right.
On the "others" side of things; I love jazz and classical too, but only if I have the music to read in terms of classical because it can get boring. Jazz is in the middle of orchestral and modern genres (pop, rock etc.) because it doesn't have words, but has captivating tunes and is a lot of fun :D

I go through phases when it comes to what genres of music I like most, but post-rock is probably my favorite right now. Godspeed You! Black Emperor, Explosions in the Sky, pg.lost, Yndi Halda, If These Trees Could Talk, etc. are all fantastic. Black folk metal is up there too; Agalloch, Ulver, and Moonsorrow among others.

Anything that is Adult Contemporary and/or acoustic like John Mayer, Jason Mraz, Michael Buble, Maroon 5, and Train. I respect this music due to my experience in my guitar class last year. This genre is the very genre me and my brother are going to make a band in and become famous in. ;)

Independent music in general applies (post-punk revival, rock, etc), but it's hardly my only niche.I try to keep an open mind about everything, since enjoying and listening to everything is impossible and anyone who suggests otherwise is naive. Even with that, howevcer I do try to respect genres I don't personally enjoy (grindcore for example) and move on.

You'd have to understand the context and such of what he posted and how in contrast, to be honest.
