Chinese Web Anime 'Sword Dynasty' Gets Japanese Broadcast

An official Twitter account has opened and announced that the anime adaptation of Chinese web novel Jian Wangchao (Sword Dynasty) will get broadcast in Japan. Animated by EMT², it will broadcast on Saturdays at 2:20 a.m. via Tokyo MX starting January 6, 2018.

Merchant girl: Chiaki Omigawa (Luck & Logic)
Zhao Shi (Yon Chou): Mitsuki Saiga (Kuragehime)
Bai Shanshui (Sansui Haku): Yumi Hara (Ange Vierge)
Zhen Shou (Shuu Tei): Yuriko Fuchizaki (Matantei Loki Ragnarok)

Opening Theme Song: "Shukugou no Ken" by Kanako Itou
Ending Theme Song: "Ibara no Toutou" by Yumi Hara

Jian Wangchao is a Chinese web novel that received anime adaptation at the end of this April via iQIYI. A young man tries to create a sword dynasty among the messy world because he has defeated King of Qing at end of warring era.

I mean, the studio, EMT², hasn't exactly produced any good work, never mind any action-oriented series, so I'm more than a little apprehensive about the quality...

This looks like a historical anime, that genre is rather small but I hope this does well.

Kanako Itou! And it's interesting to see the anime industry taking more and more material from outside. The expansion of anime in international audiences, perhaps?
