Hi guys and girls! I have a question about blade of the immortal series...

So, I was in 2nd and charles yesterday.

I saw "Blade of the immortal, omnibus IV" https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/I/510SgE0m5XL._SX347_BO1,204,203,200_.jpg

immediately was drawn in by the bad ass cover. Keep in mind I have never heard of this series. The back of the book gave it a very awesome review by publishers weekly on the back which kind of insinuated to me that I could just pick it up and read this story.

Heard from somebody that I would need to start at Omnibus I to understand the story, or I would be lost. Is this true?

Also, are the omnibus series different than the regular blade of the immortal series with 27+ volumes?
