Why does almost every anime have at least one swimsuit episode?

sukasuka didn't had any despite having a 95% girl cast with a male protag.
But hey, not everyone can enjoy good stories without looking at scantily dressed girls from time to time.
You gotta give anime fans what they really enjoy <3

the right question is "why doesn't every anime have at least one swimsuit episode". much like everything in anime, things aren't done with a clever intent in mind, but more because it's a tradition and so few Japanese in the industry are willing to do something differently.

Its cheap and simplistic and all the teenageboys out there will like it. It normaly wont be a part of the story so its filler. They use it to regulate where the anime will end in terms of the original source material.
Naruto, for examole had alot of filler, tjose episodes had a low budget and low enjoyment value, they just used them in order for the manga to get ahead. Likewise of an anime adapts a show that has a fine ending poibt in what would have been episode 11 they will just make a swimsuit episode and throw it in as episode 6 or 7 most likely. Then episode 12 will be ending the series at a nice point.
