Is this a successful recap movie for Code Geass R1? Is it successful at retelling the story of CG R1 & introducing the series to newcomers?
| 7.99 currently, seems kind of low IMO. Kind of surprising because we knew it's going to be a recap so if that wasn't something interesting then people could easily choose to skip. I would think only fans of Code Geass or people who are at least fairly interested in it would go to watch this in the movie theaters. IMO it's just a nice way to refresh before Season 3 if it's been a while since you've watched. For me I am just going to rewatch the show dubbed since I've seen it all subbed, will do so around when Season 3 is airing. It is good enough for me to justify rewatching it all. Unless they messed up with the movie IMO I'd just rate it same as R1. Possibly 1 point higher if they did an amazing job and have noticeably improved the animation(which was already very good). I am a little surprised though that they don't have the Blu-Ray released unless that's going to happen shortly before R3. If they did make the animation even better I would have considered buying the Blu Ray. |
| It seems like it skipped a lot. Things like these are better at being TV series than movie trilogies. No worries, no one really cares about recaps unless you're a die hard fan ...so yeah. +It's not available anywhere as of now so the rating is mainly due to people purposely giving out random scores without even having seen the movie unless you went to Japan just to watch this recap movie :S |

| I'd think because the huge hype fanbase Code Geass (and most shows for that matter) doesn't watch spin-offs/recaps, they're more regular/normal fans that watch a bit of anime, the same happened to kuroko no basket and probably a lot of other shows that have a high score because of a huge fanbase, the popularity of the movies just doesn't compare to the popularity of the series. |

| Well I did read what was changed so that could be the reason why its rated almost as a 7. Recap movies don't really rank too well even with newly added scenes. |

| I don't think highly of the original series overall, but there are specific parts I love and parts I hate. There will obviously be less content so supposing the series was 100% good, it would be lower but in my opinion it wasn't, so it depends if the parts they cut out were bad and if the parts they kept were good. I like the parts they chose for this first recap, so I think it's good. The first movie is not a microcosm of what Code Geass is. |
