| Best covers in my manga collection are the Rozen Maiden japanese ( ζ°θ£
η for the first series, and even more the second series ) version, which are absolutely gorgeous. Not just because of the gorgeous art from Peach-pit; even though that alone would place it amongst the best for many peoples; not even just adding the beautiful design in which that art is encased, but the feel when you touch them is unique as well. There's so much work into them, you have to see and touch them IRL to understand, as pics of them don't even come close of showing you how good they are. They feel like old sophisticated precious books both in look and feel, which fits very well with that story about antique refined dolls. As far as covers go, truly masterpieces. Next favourite are probably the Pandora Hearts cover, but that's more because I love Jun Mochizuki's art to begin with (and just like Rozen Maiden, I own an artbook of that author as well btw), so it's quite behind in how good they are compared to rozen maiden. Rozen maiden volumes are pretty much the manga in my collection I'm the most proud of owning due to those covers. Any manga fans should have them in their colelction imo, just for the cover even if you don't like the story. That's just how unique and how good those covers are. If you haven't held in your hand rozen maiden's japanese volumes, you don't know how good manga covers can be. |
