About year ago i loved anime and watched it when ever i could. I choosed rather sleep only 2h instead of 7 to watch anime before school. I even dont remember why i quitted, maybe because of exams, maybe i burned out. After some time i tryed to get back and i found only 1 title that i really enjoyed and it was Youju Senki ( i am military fan over all). I think it was the last time i ever watched any title. (Fav animes are: Charlotte, Assasination Classroom)
Thing is, i Really like anime related stuff- Cute anime girls, hentai and all that stuff, but every anime u try to get into looks like a useless spinn of with no story and some fanservice to keep people watching.
I even have some posters and PC full of Anime games but still...
Any recommendations…?

Recommendations for good anime or recommendations on how to get back into it?
You will have to setup your MAL for that as I don't know what you have seen and there is a more dedicated forum for actual recommendations.

As for the other question I watched anime for quite a few years but then I had a somewhat falling out point as well (for quite a while as well probably thats why so many people are shocked when I have watched anime for 10 years but including series I don't have on MAL my total watch count is only like 200) it happens to me in pretty much of everything you get tired after a while I can't understand those who literally watch every single seasonal series every single year thats insane. Still just try out the new mainstream series that most like or acclaimed classics that you may have missed. If it doesn't grab you but you say you really like anime you probably are still burnt out and maybe grown out of it too. Some of us lose love in past hobbies we enjoyed as a kid nothing wrong with that.

You can try some movies. I started watching anime again after a year of hiatus. I took it slowly at first, and now I watch as much as I can

As long as you’re not forcing yourself to get back into it, then whatever is fine. If you find that you’re not quite getting back into it, leave it alone for a month or so.

I don't watch anime much either. These days, I mostly watch anime movies (Most recently: Kimi no Na wa, Koe no Katachi). Sometimes anime movies are better than series.

I know this feeling, and the new Animes are all the same. Its hard to find the one even if you watched all the Masterpieces, but somehow i always find something interesting. Maybe you should watch something thats more underrated.

Try Rainbow Nisha or Prison School ;)

Akagami kill pretty grotesque yet very interesting anime in some ways if your into that.
Akuma no riddle is basically a bunch of yuri esc girls who is meant to kill 1 girl for different reasons.
Black lagoon and Jormungand are good and mature anime that i think anyone would like if they watched.
If you like historical war anime i recommend Kingdom for you a little strange animation but great story.

I guess you need a great anime for your taste. I recommend watch anime that has 8 or higher rating on MAL. That's always do the trick.

Why do you even restart watching now. You're obviously still burned out!!

Watch some ova's and movies like others have advised. If you still can't get into it again... the time still hasn't arrived yet!!

I was burned out of hollywood too. Took a long break (about a year) and now, I'm back into it. Just wait... and don't force it. You might end up hating it forever, if you try to watch it as a chore!!

I had this problem at the start of 2016. I used to always watch anime now and again since I was a kid, but I wasn't a serious otaku.

It was actually Pokemon XY that inspired me to check more stuff out. I didn't know about anime streaming sites, and while I knew about Crunchyroll I didn't think I'd sign up to it. Ironic to the whole debate going on now, Netflix was actually a big help. It had a few shows on it (this is the Australian Netflix so not as much to choose from), and that's where I saw Toradora, and that show resonated with me so much and it quite honestly got me back into the anime groove. At that point I wanted to find more and more, and in about April of 2016 I discovered streaming sites, seasonal anime and, well, this website.

It's all about finding something you'd be interested in, finding something that connects with you and you'll get that itch. Or, you can go back and watch anime from your childhood or some of your old favourites and see if that helps.

You sit

Get your device... And smash it

Then in the blood of a new born child... Draw a pentagram... On your now smashed device

Pray to our lord and savior

Never leave home again

NEVER... LEAVE... EVER

Watch the simple ones like One Punch Man, Boku no Hero Academia, Nichijou, Maid Dragon, Sakamoto, Konosuba or any animes which is good after school or work. Watch the Complicated stuff if you want to kill time like Shouwa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu, Mushishi, Natsume Yuujinchou, Yojouhan Shinwa Taikei

I rarely watch animes these days, though I pile up some anime like 3-Gatsu Lion, and there's a lot of upcoming classic stories which will be adapted to anime like Banana Fish

Honestly, what's worked best for me was to simply separate sexual desire from entertainment value.

If you feel like watching porn/hentai, just look for straight-up porn/hentai. If you feel like watching story, then look for anime that is reviewed highly for the actual story and not fanservice or moe factor.

There's a LOT of anime that has very deep/interesting/intense stories, which tend to be the ones without moe or fanservice.

I mean, if I tried looking only for anime with incredibly hot sexy anime guys fanservice AND good story, I would be SOL because there is so little of that.
By default, almost all anime characters, especially girls, are beautiful, anyway. :)

It'd help if you gave some specific genres that you do prefer, for story. I did really enjoy Assassination Classroom myself, and from that alone I could suggest GTO or Gokusen which are both stories revolving around the teacher as the main character, as well. The art style of both of them is much older and mature, though, not moe. If you look past that, they are both very great and touching/inspiring.

Well, for military maybe you'd like a futuristic police anime like Psycho-Pass or Ghost in the Shell? I'm not that knowledgeable for military-themed anime, though, aside from things like Valkyria Chronicles (which I haven't seen, only played the game).

One new anime you might possibly like is Kino's Journey. It's actually fairly old but came with a new anime this season. You might like it because the main character is a very cute tomboy girl with military-style outfit and a guns/weapon expert. I think the new anime is a bit more moe-fanservicey than the previous series which had no fanservice, because of the noticeably more cutesy anime girl characters in some episodes, but don't expect it to be ecchi fanservice. It's not sexual at all.
It's episodic, so the story is more like, a new story each episode. Kind of like an anthology like Black Mirror or Twilight Zone, and just as interesting/quirky.

Try going back to the basics.

I mean, remember what genre of anime made you an addicted in the first place and go with it.

It happens, it already happened to me, but after 4 years, I'm back to anime.

How do people keep coming up with this kind of stuff? You don't seem serious about getting back into anime if you're inventing excuses like this.

Moe and story are not mutually exclusive or opposing elements.

Please look at you PTW list. Watch it, don't drop, don't watch in one sitting, try to complete it without complain, and boom.... finally you're back.

Be note that you must have a good mood while doing above

The answer actually is to just take a step away from anime for a bit. Maybe stop for a while.

I burned out on anime a while back too. It's always from real life issue cropping up, then you fall behind a little, before it eventually gets so out of hand that you keep procrastinating on watching anime.

Just chill, remember that anime isn't an obligation. When you eventually come back to it, don't overdo it with so much anime again.
I'm not a lolicon, you're just projecting your tendency to lewd 2D characters.

If your favourite character is Tsutsukakushi Tsukiko, you are my soul mate.

Been a long time since I've been here, I'll continue expressing myself freely and believe everyone should too.
