Just show them death note or AOT, those are always good beginner shows. Not everyone is willing to watch heavily sexualized cartoons and you shouldn't force them to. |

| I'd try to find a good match up on what they like in films or television series. At bare minimum get them to appreciate the work with some Satoshi Kon or Mamoru Hosoda. If I can covert my much older coworkers into the anime life then I know it's possible. |

She likes futuristic crime shows? Psycho pass. Animals? Polar Bear's Cafe. I've gotten my mom to watch some Anime with me. Should be easier with a significant other LOL |
| Very possible... You just need to translate the medium... Ask them what movies, shows etc they like then chose an anime that best suits that... If they like it then low key recommend some good starters... And it all goes down hill from there |
| My husband likes anime, so I never had to worry about getting him into it. Most of my other relationships, I got the whole "eh I'm not really into cartoons" >.> You can try some genres that they may like. But sometimes people just aren't into it. | I would suggest to start with a movie, so they can think "well, if I don't like it, at least I won't lose much time" Something like Koe no Katachi, Bakemono no Ko, Paprika, Mai Mai Shinko to Sennen no Mahou, Hottarake no Shima, Colorful (Movie), Hotarubi no Mori e, Hal, etc. Or even some Makoto Shinkai's work or some Studio Gibli s. Something along the genres He/She/It likes. |
